Is it really fun lol what's the difference? Just the difficulty?
New levels, like completely new levels that are much more longer and the difficulty is increasingly difficult and theres a subtle frustration sometimes due to the precision recquired. You cannot just rush through the stages so easily like the original, pretty amazing custom game IMO.

how much of this game is custom? is it every level? or just a large portion? guess i could use a cheat to unlock all worlds, but im lazy

Isn't there a main thread for this game somewhere? I thought it was a community project.

It's pretty good, it actually uses the save from the official NSMB, so if you have already completed that one, you can try out any stage. I was a little disappointed when I started a new save and got to the first castle half way through world 1 and realized that there are no Gold Challenge coins in that level. That means that you can't go through on a new save and get all the achievements in this Next Levels version.

The game text (and grammar) is also a bit messed up at points, and the in game tips and tricks do not work because the button inputs for the run throughs assume that they're on a different level layout. If some of these issues were polished, this would be something I could see Nintendo taking over and redistributing, and the poor re-programmer(s) would be SOL because Nintendo already owns all the rights.

YEah, I'm playing it now, it may be long and (I guess) hard, but it's extremely easy to get extra lives. I'm not really that into this game, to be honest. It's kind of just like. a compilation of strange stages, haha. But it's cool to see something new out there I can't wait for the other projects!

Oh, this is hilarious. Most, if not all, of the levels were stolen from the NSMBW Level Depot.
Two of them are actually mine, that weren't good enough for Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii, so I decided to scrap them

This guy probably did literally nothing, but compile them into an iso. Good job.

the ISO may already be patched, not sure, so try removing/renaming the WIP and seeing if it works

if it doesn't work, copy the WIP for the new super mario bros game, then rename it according to Next Levels title ID

OK
1.i don`t steal nothing from nobody
2.yes most of the levels are from NSMBW Level Depot. but they are open to the public
3.i just have the idea the compile all the levels into the iso, and change the logo, and change some of the text on the game
so you think this is nothing
why no try to do it by yourself

if you read the main post not here just google for that
i explain all of that and gave the credits to you guys

ps. thank you for your levels

sorry for mi English is no my primary language

stealing other peoples work is usually wrong, but given the nature of the whole thing i think it shouldn't matter, though you should give credit somewhere in the game.
It's great that someone actually made an iso of the levels for people to try,
especially seeing how all of the teams making newer versions seem to be dead against making an iso to share with others
thankyou casper you did do a a good job, that job is called sharing

We're just saying that we won't make one. Anyone that wants will have an ability to go ahead and do it.

I actually seen quite a few 'release' topics; I never saw you credit anybody. That's not saying you didn't do it somewhere, but you should attach at least a readme with people's names.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
