I have softmodded my 4.2 wii with bannerbomb and installed cios 249 etc...

I am now able to play backup games with backup loaders.

Is it possible to see in the disc channel what backup disc is inserted in the wii?

I had the icon of the disc inserted before at lower wii version but I can't rember what I have to do to get this.

Any suggestions?

All 3 options are dangerous, but PriiLoader is the least dangerous. However, be warned: should you ever want to go back to having a regular Wii, PriiLoader will still leave invisible marks behind. Some apps can get rid of those, though.

sneek + di. its way less risky than any of the other methods
you only need bootmii installed and you can load disc and usb games from the disc channel

Can I ask, what's so dangerous about CIOSCorp?

I mean, I installed it, and it works fine(Although I don't play backups through Burnt DVDs anymore). Does it just have a high chance of bricking your Wii or something?

Well, older versions of cIOSCORP (v1/v2) would brick newer Wiis.

But DARKCORP is pretty safe. It's about as safe as a regular update (except official 4.2 update, which is even more dangerous than DARKCORP installation!).

That will get burned discs to load via disc channel.

And you can use various hacks with priiloader such as region free and update blocking.

...you can use priiloader with a "Force discs to use IOS249" hack without using DARKCORP, but that method has low compatibility.

So I would suggest using bootmii to make a NAND backup, then install DARKCORP.

@damysteryman,

How about for wii that were installed with bootmii as IOS? Even if there's a nand back-up it would render useless when they install darkcorp next but screw-up upon installation? Any thoughts. thanks.

Even if it's as IOS, it can still dump your Wii's keys and NAND, and if something does go wrong, it can then be reflashed by an infectus NAND programmer, rather than having no backup at all.
