Alright, so a few weeks back I decided to get bored of my web browser and look for some new ones. So I looked through them all, and played with them, and their features and stuff for a few days each. Here's my ranking for all of them, starting with the worst:
--------------------
Apple Safari
Well, I quite disliked this browser. I guess I'm an Apple hater, but still.

So I'll start off with what's good:
Cool new tab page that takes you to your most recent pages, or pages you configure to be there all the time.
Private browsing
Spell check

What's bad:
No customization
No add ons
No mouse controls

Overall: Sure it takes you to the internet, but that's about it. Web browsers in this day and age need extra stuff. We like to see different backgrounds, we like customization, we're lazy, so we want extra features that make it easier to browse. Safari fails on these accounts.
4/10
--------------------
Internet Explorer
The definition of par for a web browser. If it doesn't at least have what IE has, it's a bad browser. Thankfully there aren't any that don't do what IE does. Cuz there's not too much that IE actually does.

What's good:
Minorly customizable
Add ons
Private browsing

What's bad:
Minimal customization
No mouse controls
No default spell check

It's not that it's bad, but similar to what I said with Safari, there's just not much to offer. IE has a few cool add ons, but most are lame. No spell check is quite annoying as nearly every browser has spell check these days.
5/10
--------------------
Google Chrome
It has the feel for a very lite browser. It's got tabs, and it's got add on's. That's about all you see, but it's not a bad thing... for the most part. Let's take a look at the pros and cons.

What's good:
Customizable
Add on's are sometimes cool
Very lite interface doesn't get in your way
Cool new tab that shows recent sites
Spell check

What's bad:
Perhaps too lite feeling in its interface.
Add on's can be buggy
No reliable mouse controls

It's got more stuff than the previous browsers, but it feels like there should be more.
7/10
--------------------
Firefox
This has become the definitive web browser over the past few years. It's led the way in terms of customization, and it's impressive when compared to the past web browsers reviewed. Let's jump in to what's good and not.

What's good:
Spell check
Incredibly customizable
Lots of cool add on's
Private browsing

What's bad:
No default mouse controls

Honestly, there's not much I can say that makes this browser bad. It's a solid browser that delivers on most aspects. There are a ton of add on's to choose from, and it's easy to customize the browser to your liking.
9/10
--------------------
Orca Browser
So you've probably never heard of this browser, which is a shame, cuz it's quite awesome. It's a hybrid of Firefox and the browser I'll tell you about next. Anyway, it's a cool browser packed with cool content. Lemme break it down:

What's good:
Spell check
Minorly customizable
Mouse controls!
Autofill

What's bad:
No private browsing
Can slow down sometimes

It's well worth trying for a bit, and it's hard to go wrong with something mixed with firefox. Only downside is the occasional slow down.
9/10
--------------------
Avant Browser
This is a peculiar browser. It uses Internet Explorer, but it acts as its own browser. It's got tabs and such, but the hilight (along with that of Orca) is the fact that it has mouse controls. This means that if you hold down the right mouse button, you can click the left mouse button to go back, move the mouse to refresh the page, close the page, open a new tab, switch through tabs. It's pretty sweet.

What's good:
Mouse controls
Minorly customizable
Mouse controls
Autofill

What's bad:
No private browsing
No spell check

A great browser. It's a bit lite, but it's still quite good. I'd recommend it to anyone.
9.25/10
--------------------
Opera Browser
It takes the cake, Opera is awesome. It's very customizable, it's got mouse controls, it's got private browsing, it's got cool add on things, it's got everything you could want. It also scrolls really sexily. It's got an autofill feature, a new tab thing that displays web pages as you configure it (and you can display your own picture in the new tab to make you feel special) It's truly amazing.

What's good:
Mouse controls
Cool add on's that allow file sharing right in the browser
Cool new tab page
Autofill
Private browsing in its own window or in just a tab
Sexy scroll feature

What's bad:
Some compatibility issues with a few sites.

Overall, you may need a backup browser for a few sites that don't support Opera, but it's still the best browser out there that's still growing. The Wii even uses it! So I'd tell you all to check it out if you have had your doubts, cuz it's quite awesome.
9.5/10
--------------------
So wuddya guys think?
What's your favorite and why?

I like Safari and Opera. I don't care about add-ons and customization for stuff like themes, to be honest; I just want my web browser to look, feel, and act like a native app. (Are you reading, Mozilla?)

The biggest thing I want from a browser is speed. And what can I say, Opera's the fastest browser. Safari is blazing fast too, though. (I don't use Chrome due to privacy concerns.)

Of all the websites I visit in Opera the past few months, I've never encountered an incompatibility. On Windows, Opera is my #1 choice, but Safari falls at a quite close #2. (I'm a sucker for the Mac font rendering.

P.S.- You forgot about Opera's widgets.

I don't mean to sound trollish but this all sounds terribly biased.

I mean the top browser doesn't support numerous web pages...

And you took off 6 points because Safari doesn't support add-ons (I'm assuming that's correct, but I've never used it so, hey). I'm including mouse commands in that because that's how most browsers support it...not that most people actually use them anyway.

Also, some of your reasoning just screams bull-honkey, for example, "Perhaps too light" under Chrome negatives. I...didn't know that taking up a smaller amount of processing power and memory was a bad thing? (Also, while I'm talking about Chrome...it does have private browsing, and the add-ons might be buggy? I'm not sure which ones you are referring to, but remember that most of them are direct ports from Gecko browsers, and technically the browser is still in Beta...silly Google...)

I'm probably using the wrong word...it's where you wave your cursor around in some bizarre motion to make the pages go forward, backward, or what have you. There's really no purpose to it, to be honest.

Mouse gestures (I think that's what you mean) aren't needed as default option.
Maybe you use it and think it's "needed", but I wouldn't count it as bad when it's not there by default...

Almost all points on Chrome are wrong.

Also, You are now aware that even how much the UI may suck in Safari, it has been counted by benchmarkings the fastest browser (in means of opening, rendering etc. of web page, or running the html code) - followed by Chrome and then opera.

I switched instantly to chrome when I initially started to use it, Tabs are my new way to browse instead of bookmarking. Also, the fact is that Chrome with 30 tabs to open opens up under 1 second from pressing the button, with all tabs I had, Firefox takes bad side of 30 seconds on same hardware, with LESS tabs to open up, plus that then it also takes double the time to load all the web pages.

and how something can bee too lite..?

It actually uses more RAM than Firefox.

One thing I like about Chrome is that if a tab crashes, the browser doesn't crash with it, you can easily switch tabs while that one loads. Same goes for addons too.
Just all the damn processes.

Nice review, Opera FTW!
Yeah, I used opera strong before upgrading to chrome using.

Opera taught me excellent benefits of having tabs (and tab memory) so some sites can be just left open as tab instead of bookmarking every thing and keeping track where you left, for me it is "easier" to just open browser, have it open the 30 tabs, with 5-6 forums, few sites I use, few shop pages on some product I am to buy and to get reminded about it, few Searches or whatever I need to keep track on, so on.

I've tried Safari and Chrome. I like Chrome but couldn't get ad-block to work properly, so I slowly stopped using it. Safari just didn't have anything in it for me to like.

Maybe I should try Opera sometime. One of the biggest reasons why I love FireFox is ad-block plus. No single plugin has ever been more useful (in my opinion). If Opera has something similar, then I may use it more often.

Also, Foxies are cute - all the other browsers have bland logos.

I prefer firefox, simply because of how customizable it is with add ons. the interwebs are simply horrible to browse without Adblock plus after getting used to it. Flashgot with Jdownloader makes pirating stuff from places like rapidshare a breeze. You can just add stuff that you want easily. Also, lack of gesture support is not a valid point against firefox, simply because you can add that with an add on.

I forgot to mention this earlier, but FireFox fully supports gestures on my dad's Acer 5740 and my HP Pavillion tx2550ea tablet. I never use it (the wonders of having a good mouse) but it works when I need it to (i.e. when not at home).

So yeah, it was mouse "gestures"
Chrome being "lite" means the interface, too lazy to test the RAM usage.
There should be obvious bias, it's my review.
And the mouse gesture add on I used in Chrome was buggy.
After using mouse gestures for a while I personally feel like I need it in my browser, so that's why it's a negative if a browser doesn't have it.
So, yup.
Also, Safari got a terrible score because it's plain, but also cuz I hate Apple. Yeah it's unscientifically bias, but wutever.

Yah but recently Ad Block Plus has been really shitty. I used to never see an ad, not even on youtube or hulu. But now, it's like there's ads EVERYWHERE.

I think they may have added a premium ad block plus, and dumbed down the free one so people would pay.

I don't see why Flashgot is needed though. What does it have over Jdownloader's link grabber?

I love Opera, it's good not just as a browser but as a whole, its just a fantastic application. though on Ubuntu, Firefox feels more like a native app. Minefield is also interesting.

Safari is useless outside of a Mac and Chrome is as fast and stable as strapping yourself to a giant rocket.
