Great review. From all the models available today, i think the 3000 is the best one. (Have all the models)
But it has a problem with some lines showing up while you're playing a game, doesn't it?
i've seen the scanlines.
they aren't bad.
it's just if you are picky and are bothered easily, then don't get it.

The 3000 has a MUCH better screen the the 2000, I occasionally notice scan lines but the contrast and the colors are much more natural, compared side-by-side the PSP 2000 looks like it has a blue-ish tint on the screen.

I still maintain it's personal preference...

I think the 2000 looks ok and even with a better glare response the duff mobo makes it a worse choice for me.

Good Review.

I've been trying to get my hands on a PSP 1000 but people are charging an arm and a leg for it. I understand that 1000s are out of print but come the fuck on.

PSP 1000s cost more than PSP 3000s. I'm about to just get a 3000 and call it a day.

You've been looking the wrong places then. I got my PSP 1000 on Amazon for around $130, including S&H, a 2GB memory stick, and a power/USB cable.

I got mine as a Gamestop Refurb $100.

I guess I'll check out Amazon and (to my displeasure) Gamestop.

I love my PSP 1000, but the build quality is nowhere near the score given.

It does feel like a lovely pieve of kit but the UMD drive was always a bad decision for a portable system, and I know a lot of early adopters who now have consoles with faulty drives. My own does not work at all.

Luckily usage of the drive is not one of my main uses of my PSP.

I've only ever been tempted to move to a PSP 2000 for it's extra memory, which would help some of the homebrew apps I use, PSPComic being one example. However, it felt too light for my taste, and it's drive feels cheaper. At least my faulty, useless, UMD drive feels and looks nice.

If you're unhappy with the build quality of the 1000, that doesn't bode well for the Slim. I love my 2000, but aside from it's lightness, it just feels a lot more vulnerable than the good old Phat PSP. The PSP 1000 has actual metal in the frame, whilst the 2000 looks like it's either thinner or just ceramic.

I travel with my 1000 and use my 2000 at home.
