Gaming Monster Hunter 3 Hype Thread!!

I got this working with Softchip R99 using the methods posted in the thread. I bought the game though so when it gets here, can I use the same method to boot the official disk or do I have to find a way to block the update? Is there a way to block the update from the official disk?

Rather use the actual disk because maybe my media isn't that good or something (TDK) but the one I burned seeks a lot and stutters some during FMV scenes.

Can boot the game like the way you boot other official games. To skip updates, just boot through Gecko.

Does anyone know if the retail copy of the game has a system update? Also, is there a possibility of getting banned from online because my Wii is softmodded?

I tried out the GeckOS way of getting monster hunter to work and it says "the disc can not be read". i previously installed hermes v4 before doing full install of darkcorp. is that a reason why it wouldnt work?

Zaiga you can block the update with priiloader or IOS55, or any number of boot loaders.
And they wil NOT ban you. Namely because they can't detect whether someone has a softmodded Wii. They WILL ban you however for modifying a saved game file for cheating.

So there is an update, do you know what system version it is? I'm currently on 4.1U. I'm assuming running the game through GeckOS would bypass the update? Thanks for the info about online.

There's a reason why i removed the "Remove 002 Protection" Option in SoftChip!

Get SoftChip r102:

To play from disc(without modchip) you need either a cIOS37 or cIOS55, select it in SoftChip, enable Fake IOS Version, UNcheck Load Requested IOS and launch the game.

If you have cioscorp installed, then you can select Load Requested IOS, all others should either
install a cIOS37 or cIOS55 wad, select IOS37 or IOS55 in SoftChip
or
install cIOS37rev19 and select IOS249 in SoftChip
or
install cIOS37rev19 and use NeoGamma

If you still get more Ioctl errors, i need more infos, what cIOS do you use, do you have working games? DVD-R or DVD+R?

Didn't work I couldn't even use r102 cuz i got errors, had to use r100 and followed what you said and i still get the red ioctl error.
I used the Cios u said I should use, i have working games and i use DVD-R Verbatim discs.

p.s. wad manager did not allow me to install the ciosv55bugfix.wad

kirokun: Download Darkcorp 1.0 and run the game through the disc launcher channel(You know the official disc launch channel)

Get them from nus or use the network option in the cIOS installer.

Yeah, I got some of that too, but the main gameplay is fine and without stutters. It loads amazingly fast too.

I'm new to softmodding...I have NeoGamma. Can you tell me a bit more on how'd you make this game work? When I start a new game, I get this high pitched noise, and a black screen.

What errors? Have you tried the version i linked?

What errors? Have you tried the version i linked?

The version you linked just code dumps if that's the error kirokun is talking about.
