Have you ever wondered if people can choose random numbers?
I did, so I put a survey on my website, to see what number gets chosen most often.

If you want to fill in the survey (will only take 10 seconds), please read on. The purpose of this survey is to find out how people think of a number, and not what the most likely place on the numpad is to hit. So don't smash your keyboard and see what numbers come up, but think of one first (don't look around and pick the first number you see), and then type it in.

You can choose numbers from 1 to 100, and your IP adress will be logged, so filling it in multiple times is useless.

The results will become available on that page too, as soon as the survey is finished. And if you like the idea, please also get other people to fill it in.

Thanks in advance, to everybody filling it in.

Nobody can use IP adresses to hack a computer or anything, so why hiding it?
Oh sure you can, I could write an app, if there aren't any already, that takes all those IP addreses, and check them all for open ports.

For example, hackers could access a computer using Remote Desktop, if the port is open.

Srsly, don't go posting all IP addresses of people on the internet

Tracking every ip which visits a page is easy.

Also, I enterted a number and this came up

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ECHO in /home/informat/public_html/nehu10/randomsurvey/randomsurvey.php on line 16

Try looking for a missing ; and check the echo is in the write place. Example:

If you can get somebody to view an image or page you made online, you can get their IP addres.

For example, the latest person to view my signature here...

Code:
Date: Apr 17 17:31:02
Referer: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=219041&st=30&start=30
Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
ISP: PLANET TECHNOLOGIES
Hilversum, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

You can get somebody's IP address online easily if you can communicate with them.
Then again, you can get somebody's house address IRL easily by looking at the damn number on the house, then looking at the damn street sign.
Having an address doesn't mean crap. If anybody's actually capable of hacking, they don't need to go to any great lengths at all to get your IP, so there's no point in hiding it.
