A repack occurs when the original release was buggered up. Either the same group can release a repack, or another group can; the original release then gets nuked. In the GBA scene, an oversized dump is not grounds for a repack, hence the complaining.

Then again, I think sometimes people complain just for the sake of complaining.

wasn't an overdump is the situation, was an irregular 31mbits....so as always occurs in the sk33n, somebody rushed to *nuke* and repack (padding to 32mbit and removing the 'Dual Crew Shining' Intro)..happens all the time, has forever in the gba sk33n...lamer blamer just doesnt know his history....

just for example:
Starsky_and_Hutch_REPACKED_FIXED_USA_GBA-iND: Nuked (Reason: lame.release)

and here another release with a 'wrong' romsize
- Disneys_Magical_Quest_2_Multi3_EUR_GBA-RS (4194305 bytes, crc: 6DBF626C)
- http://releases.pocketheaven.com/?system=g...elease&rel=1139 (4194305 bytes, crc: 6DBF626C)

you see??? starsky and hutch wouldn't be the first rom with a wrong filesize in the releaselist...

so please stop telling me that this happens all the time...

4194304 is 32mbit...so 1 byte overdump, who cares...we weren't talking bout overdumps tho.
we were talking bout this --v

DCS rom @ from GBATAThe header information of file dcs-sah.gba
-----------------------------------------
Software Title: STARSKYHUTCH
Game Serial:Â Â AGB-AYHE-USA
Maker Code:Â 7N
Publisher:Â Â Â LSP
Version:Â Â Â Â 1.0
Logo Code:Â Â Â OK
Complement:Â F8h
Save Type:Â Â Â EEPROM_V122
File Size:Â Â Â 31 mbit (4192956 bytes)
CRC32:Â Â Â Â Â 89E663B2
-----------------------------------------
which makes it underdumped actually, 1348 bytes...good intro, bad size, all i was saying
isnt the same as the overdump you mentioned, underdumps get propers, easy as that...

edit: and in no way, shape or form did i have anything at all to do with that release (cuz repacking is teh lame, we all know that *cough* rapid-fire *cough*).. so ifn your thinking, omg, coincidence...all i was saying sir, is do it right the first time, immitators cant correct your minor flaws...quote me on that..

while dcs did a great job of coding and attaching the intro, they forgot one minor detail...right? (you know the answer is yes)

and your right, repacking to re-add missing padding is like wtf...lame, unnecessary, evil, stupid, etc.. (but they still appear on scene sites regardless and on irc channels/fservs)
but, some might think i might've had something to do with it from my comments, and before any blame comes down, i want to have my shit away from the fan so to speak..
