Wait for Mario Sunshine Pinball for better control lol

Its not too bad. But only fans of mario and pinball would like this. It looks good, but it does get a little annoying. You just nee patience with the game though.
If you love collecting coins and wish you could do it as a ball, then there you go

The ideas put into the game (eg, the worlds, stars, etc) weren't bad, but Mario just rolls too damn fast.
The game might have been more fun if it wasn't pinball. Just keep the same levels and the way you progress, but allow the player to control Mario to stomp and punch enemies.
In any case, it's not that bad. No, it's not the greatest Mario game or the greatest pinball game released, but that doesn't mean it sucks. I'm still having fun with it myself.

This game isn't too fun, might keep you entertained for 20 seconds. Really though, it's just to simple. The tables suck.

Oooh! How about King's Quest pinball!
Adventure games are dead.

The graphics on this game are nice and the concept is interesting, but there's something unsatisfactory about the physics and overall experience. I would've preferred an original platformer to this. It's nice that Nintendo has tried to expand Mario's repetoire and all rather than stalely rehashing the same thing ala Capcom (and the Megaman games) but man I'd love an original new 2D mario already.

Mario 64 killed platforming.

Gasp!  A pinball game where you can't control where the ball's going to go?  You don't say!

Have you played the game yet? You NEED to be able to control the ball in this game, otherwise it takes forever to do anything.

Have you guys ever played pinball? I mean, REAL pinball. Not video games. You don't control the pinball. That's the point. You have to aim.

Or am I just that old?

I love "real" pinball. There is a gas station between my house and my office that has a Monsters of Rock machine and I play that more than a couple times a week. I also hit the arcades when I goto malls and play mostly pinball. As far as Mario Pinball being close to real pinball I have to say that it isnt close. If Im looking for a a good digital pinball I have a nice pinball emu on my PC that emulates actual tables like Medieval Madness, Black Knight 2000, South Park etc.

Edit: In case anyone is intrested the programs are called visual pinball and PinMAME you use the two together to emulate actual pinball tables on your PC. . . very nice.
