THIS idiotic thing sometimes appears when im connected to the internet.
Sometimes it makes the computer freeze, when the thing is loading.

First, is this even real? Because it says viruses are taking over my computer,
but it seems like nothing is happening. It keeps on popping up... FRIGGN' ANNOYING.

I heard AVG is a REALLY GOOD virus scanner. But I can't even download it because
the website is not working. I think it's because of the virus..?

Google links redirecting... Now i have to re-enter the site link i clicked (highlight then press enter).
Not big of a deal, but annoying.

BTW, I don't have a genuine windows vista thing.. My friend's uncle downloaded something to this to save it from some
blue screen that says something about boot... something... w/e..

EDIT: Please do not post direct links to virus scanner downloads. Please post only mirrors!
The same problem with the AVG is happening to the sites!

OK...

So from reading this you have been surfing the internet with no anti-virus software already installed?

I think the thread title is wrong - shouldn't be stupid virus...

There is an online scanning utility that you might be able to use: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/

Not used myself but it's an option.

Other than that, reformat and then next time actually be prepared to go online before you do.

Try super anti spyware. If it doesn't work PM me and I'll upload the portable one onto Mediafire.

Also this is NOT a virus, it is a fake security scanner. Try to uninstall it, I'm guessing the computer shutdown thing is scammers using you to scam people.

Antivirus Vista 2010 is a rogue anti-virus program that is usually advertised through the use of pop ups and fake security alerts that state that your computer is infected and that you should run an online anti-malware scan. Once the rogue program is installed, it will claim to scan your computer for malware and display a list of false threats just to confirm that your computer is infected with malware (usually Trojans and computer worms). Then it will ask you to pay for a full version of the program in order to remove the threats which as we already know don't even exist. Most importantly, don't buy it. If you did, then please contact your credit card company and dispute the charges. Next, please read removal guide below and remove Antivirus Vista 2010 from your computer manually for free or with an automatic removal tool.

Antivirus Vista 2010 scam is very irritating and unfortunately can't be removed as easy as you would remove regular software. That's because it uses quite effective self-protection methods and techniques to make the removal process complicated, especially for people who don't know much about computer. First of all, it blocks almost all legitimate software; of course it disables security software in the first place. Manual removal can be complicated only if you can use Task Manager and Registry Editor, unfortunately it disables these tools too. What is more, Antivirus Vista 2010 will flood your computer with fake security alerts, firewall warnings and other similar pop-ups. It will also hijack Internet Explorer and redirect you to various misleading websites or block access to security related websites. Now, let's see how to get rid of Antivirus Vista 2010 virus?

Antivirus Vista 2010 removal instructions:

1. Click Start->Run (or WinKey+R). Input: "command". Press Enter or click OK.
2. Type "notepad" as shown in the image below and press Enter. Notepad will open.
3. Copy and past the following text into Notepad:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.exe\shell\open\command]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\secfile\shell\open\command]
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe\shell\open\command]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe]
@="exefile"
"Content Type"="application/x-msdownload"

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\secfile]

4. Save file as "exefix.reg" (without quotation-marks) to your Desktop.
NOTE: choose Save as type: All files

5. Double-click to open exefix.reg. Click "Yes" for Registry Editor prompt window.
6. Download Spyware Doctor or an automatic removal tool below. Update Spyware Doctor and run a full system scan.

If you can't complete the above steps then please use another PC to download an automatic removal tool and exefix.reg (Right Click (Save Target As)) to download file. Copy these files to USB flash drive or any other external media and transfer them to infected computer. Launch exefix.reg file first and then install Spyware Doctor.

I uploaded it, I have used SuperAntiSpyware and it is safe and has good detection. Detected so much that :shudder: Norton couldn't detect.
It also doesn't need to be installed to scan.

From what I can guess is that it is a peice of malicous software which requires you to enter text from an image, I expect that the image is from a legit site and they are using you to fill in forms. Anyway, go along with it now, remove the fake security center and then use malware antibytes.

Also, just curious, but can you see this

it is a mirror of malware antibytes (also makes a good proxy for blocked sites!).

Try addign .nyud.net to the end of the URL and see if you can access a blocked scanner.

True true..

And that link you gave me? Yep, same problem as the AVG problem.

Adding .nyud.net doesn't help...

Once you've done that, restart, scan again. If the security fake continues to show boot into safe mode by holding F8 as you start up.
Next, go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and download and scan.
Afterwards get some antivirus software such as AVG, Avast, ESET etc. Nothing with McAfee or Norton in the name.

Also, one more thing. If you are scared that this will happen again, keep a copy of the scanner on your HDD in case.

Reply if you have more trouble.
