Can't wait to see a us/english release.
I never finished the first one, but loved it anyway. Same with Advance Wars (except I finished AW1).
FE and AW are the only tactics games I can put up with. For some reason I just can't stand to play tactics games like FFT (both) and Tactics Orge.

Yay, oh I loved the last game... I think Nintendo has enough sense to start releasing them all in English now, though I can't imagine seeing this one in the West for a while. Personally speaking I'm looking forward to the GC Fire Emblem game more but I don't see any reason why I shouldn't check this GBA one out.

p.s If anyone wants to fill us in on the plot details/storyline of this game then they're more than welcome.

Sigh.... you people....
This is a NEW Fire Emblem, it's the 8th part of the series and it looks like that for the very same reason Advance Wars 1 and 2 looked the same, they can make the game faster if they use the same graphics instead of having to redesign everything again.

Besides, it doesn't look bad at all. All fire emblems have looked sort of plain graphics wise and the GBA versions are no exception.

And no, it's not from a 'console or comp' that never came here (also, define 'here', because in the internet there is no 'here')
All Fire Emblem games came out on Nintendo consoles, in great part because Nintendo owns the game.
In case no one knows either, Fire Emblem basically invented the strategy/rpg genre, Fire Emblem is super popular in japan and Nintendo sucks for not releasing it early in America or Europe.

i only know the one that was released some time ago on GBA (and that i played through... not that it was that blistering in the end, especially story-wise). so this has been number 8? *huh*... how long back this game dates then?

The first Fire Emblem game was for the NES and it was released in 1990, and it (as Rey pointed out), was the first "Tactics" game, (yes even before Ogre Battle)...

There isn't a US release date for this game, and while that doesn't mean it won't ever be released in the US it does mean it'll be a long while before you can play this in english...

So buckle up dive in and play the game for the real reason you play games, the gameplay...If you've played the last one in english, not much is going to change in terms of actual gameplay... (sadly there are still no skills in this one

)

So to bottom line it, forget not being able to understand the storyline and just enjoy one of the few great Tactics games still made...

It dates all the way back to the Famicom, the first one being released in 1990. Here's the releases in order:
QUOTE said:
1 Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi (Dragon of Darkness and Sword of Light), Famicom (1990)
2 Fire Emblem Gaiden (Biography), Famicom (1991)
3 Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo (Mystery of the Emblem), Super Famicom (1993)
4 (Genealogy of Holy War), Super Famicom (1996)
5 Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, Super Famicom (1999, 2000)
6 Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi (Sealed Sword), Gameboy Advance (2002)
7.Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken, Gameboy Advance (2003)
8 Fire Emblem: Souen no Kiseki (Trail of the Blue Flame), Gamecube (TBA 2005)
9 Fire Emblem: Seima no Kouseki, Gameboy Advance (2004)

kinda long list... the last english release summed up a lot of backstory (the reason why i somehow felt this storyboard was off the main story-branch somehow as it didn't made sense to me) so i guess you can get into this series with that release and go forth... i honestly skipped most of the dialogs except those where i though might be important for the story.

played a bit through it but as it is the same in gameplay as the precedor it's not that interesting if you don't understand the story. so unless you really are a fan of that kind of gameplay you better wait or look for something else if you don't know japanese.
