ROM Hack [Guide] How to remove the 3rd badge using Pokesav for hgss

1. Download Windows Enabler (http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/speedload/enabler_files/windows_enabler.zip)
2. Extract out the files and run it. (With admin if vista/7)
3. See the right side of the taskbar. The place where all the background running program icons are at. The place beside the clock...
4. Click the Windows Enabler Icon. It will have a word "On" on it after you click.
5. Download Pokesav (Not compact)(http://projectpokemon.org/editing/files/Pokesav_HGSS-ENG-Ver.0.03a_PP.org.zip)
6. Click the "Open" button
7. Select your sav file and open it.
8. Click the events button at the bottom left
9. Now the button is enabled, click again.
10. See all the 1st badge, 2nd badge.... All disabled.
11. Click them 1 turn to enable them then untick those you don't want.
12. Click ok and Save for sav file.
13. Enjoy.

Note: It is the no. of badges that affect not the no. 3 badge. You can disable the 1st badge to make the total no. of badge be less than 3. After all the 1st badge is like useless...zzz

No it isn't. Stop telling people about stuff you know nothing about. I have 7 badges atm, removed the third badge right after I got it. I get freezes after +60 events, and it hasn't changed at all after I removed the third badge, no matter how many more badges I got. Even when I enabled the third badge again, the amount of events for a freeze to happen stayed the same.

Weird...
I get my forth 1. I have only 1st,2nd,4th badge but it crash after 3 events.
I using r4ds real.

Same, except I dont have 8 badges yet. I am running Cyclo Evolution 1.58b1 firmware and have had only 1 crash in the 3 hours of playing.

So maybe the game works better for Cyclo and Acekard
but for almost everyone else, especially those with R4's, he is correct

by having any combination of 3 badges, your game will freeze in 3 events.
I'm playing my game by keeping on 2 badges at all time.
Have heard the 7 badges thing.. don't know if it works or not.. I tried 4 badges and 6 badges and the game wouldn't even load

Seriously, it's not helpful. For those that do get the 3 events problem, this is a fine fix.

I feel a topic like this is pretty important, so I hope no one minds if it is bumped up...

I personally had troubles with Pokesav, but Pokemon Save Editor worked fine.

well i finally ran into a wall with this method, after getting your 7th badge, where you are supposed go to the next city,
there's this guy that blocks you, and tells you not to rush your time, and visit the light tower town and the town with the medicines first
he won't let me pass no matter what
well i just finished those 2 cities.. so he must be checkin for the badges.. so i put in those 2 badges..
still doesnt work.. and put in all 7 badges n game freezes..

so kinda stuck.
maybe i'll just desmume to get past him then go back to the DS again

That's a part of the plot, not an issue with the fix. The wall of the fix comes later, for Victory Road. For the place where you are, you're supposed to go down to Goldenrod and do that lovelieness.

POKESAV FIX:

On the Computer Fix:
1. Download Windows Enabler from http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/speedload/...ows_enabler.zip
2. Extract and run.
3. It shows up on the taskbar (by the clock) as several windows.
4. Click it (it will show that it's on)
5. Download the full Pokesav version from ProjectPokemon.org.
6. Extract and run.
7. Select your sav file and open.
8. Click the events button at the bottom left. It will no longer be greyed out. Click again.
10. Click the badges to remove the grey out.
11. Remove badges which you do not need (try to keep only one on at a time, two max).
12. Click ok and Save from the main screen.

On the DS Fix: (does not work for all)
1. Download Pokesav-DS from ProjectPokemon.org
2. Extract. Copy HomebrewMenu and your choice of PokeSav to your card.
3. Open HomebrewMenu on your DS.
4. Find and open your sav file.
5. Edit out your badges.
6. Save.

wow.. thanks.. i just made myself looked silly lol.
I was just going gym to gym and didnt get any clue that I was supposed to head to goldenrod..

anyways, i thought this might be helpful, since we keep on switching badges, we might forget which is for which HM:

1st- Zephyr Badge - Traded Pokémon up to Level 20 will obey
Can now use HM06 - Rock Smash in the field

2nd - Hive Badge - Traded Pokémon up to Level 30 will obey
Can now use HM01 - Cut in the field

3rd - Plain Badge
Can now use HM04 - Strength in the field

4th - Fog Badge - Traded Pokémon up to Level 50 will obey
Can now use HM03 - Surf in the field

5th - Storm Badge
Can now use HM02 - Fly in the field

6th - Mineral Badge - Traded Pokémon up to Level 70 will obey

7th - Glacier Badge
Can now use HM05 - Whirlpool in the field

8th - Rising Badge - Traded Pokémon up to Level 100 will obey
Can now use HM07 - Waterfall in the field

I have 7 badges just with occasional freezes. CycloDS 1.58, dunno why you would want to edit out badges.

What We Think We Know
last update: 3:33 PM CST March 16

IMPORTANT:

OMG WHEN WILL THE WORKING PATCH BE OUT?
As soon as the people working on it stop being spammed and can concentrate for long enough to find one.

RARELY CRASHING DOES NOT MEAN WORKING PERFECTLY.
THOSE "RANDOM" CRASHES TYPICALLY FOLLOW THE 24 EVENT PATTERN.

CURRENTLY WORKING:

(These do have occassional freezes, but very rare.)

- Acekards work most of the time.
- CycloDS.
- EDGE.
- Latest version of Desmume can play the game.
- No$GBA has a fix which makes the game playable.

THE PROBLEM:

- The Open on No$Zoomer or simply press F12.
6. Open your game again. RESET function won't work, as you will get a rom image crash.
7. Choose your game just like you would do it on a real DS.

*For no$gba to recognize a save, the save must be in the "BATTERY" folder.

According to the Pokemon wiki, Badge 5 (storm Badge) allows you to use fly and have up to level 70 Pokemon obey. 6th badge (mineral Badge) does absolutely nothing.
