Mine is going to be:
-Feraligatr
-Gyarados
-Jolteon
-Pidgeot
-Togekiss
-HM Slave

you're gonna have a serious electric weakness!

I don't care. It's just an in-game party. Besides, both Feraligatr and Gyarados with Earthquake is more than enough.

I have another question, about GTS though. How come there aren't many pokemon available for me to trade for? I want to try and find a trade for elekid and meditite but they don't even show up in the GTS for me. Also, whenever I do look at trades, there are only 5. It can't be possible that there's only 5 trades available for each pokemon among the millions of people who play pokemon.

Because out of the millions, only a small percentage are going to actively have THAT specific pokemon up for trade (or even have one up for trade at all), since you can only put one up for trade at a time, and out of that percentage only a small percent of them will be within a specific level range.

I'm extremely happy right now! Why? My mom was waiting for me to get home and give me SoulSilver, since she picked it up while I was in school. They gave her a Ho-Oh figure, but I don't really care that they messed up (Since they probably ran out of Lugia figures, and a Ho-Oh figure is better than none).

Really enjoying Soul Silver, despite having played the Japanese version already. Just beaten the second gym. I've got:
lv 10 Slowpoke
lv 15 geodude
lv 16 pidgey
lv 15 gastly
lv 15 flaaffy
lv 15 quilava

some of those might change, except Gastly (which I will evolve to Gengar), gotta have me a Gengar...

4 1/2 hours on cyclods, no freezes or crashes....

Yeah, I'm testing the latest Firmware (1.58 B2) and no crashes yet.
I used to have crashes on 1.57

EDIT: It was in reply to Rogue Trader's post, so I was referring to the CycloDS

So you don't need to look for the 5th Gym, it's in Ecruteak City. Ecruteak is west of Violet City and there are a number of ways of getting there. But first, you must get the spray bottle from the Floral Shop in Goldenrod, and you must have beaten Whitney (Gym #4) in order to get the bottle. The strange tree pokemon (Sudowoodo) is blocking the way if you haven't defeated/captured/ran from it yet.

From Goldenrod: Go north, up Route 35 and through the National Park. Then go east and then north on Route 36 up to Route 37.

From Violet City: Go west to Route 36 and up to Route 37.

In Ecruteak: Go to the Burned Tower (northwest corner of the city) and defeat your rival. Go downstairs, cue the event with the three legendary dogs, rodents, monsters, whatever you want to call them. After that, Morty returns to the 5th gym where you can battle him.

I'm having a little trouble picking my team of Pokemon.

I've decided to have 4 Pokemon (plus 2 HM move holders) and picked two of those Pokemon.

Cyndaquil - Fire Starter
Gyrados - Shiny, can learn lots of different types of moves (dark, dragon, ice, water, electric) plus high defence

I'm thinking of giving the Gyrados the following move types: Dark, Ice, Water and Electric. With TMs it can learn some pretty decent moves and so I decided to drop the dragon type.

I don't think that dragon type is essential in my team as Gyrados covers a pretty good set of elements. So I guess a fighting pokemon and a psychic or ghost one?

[edit] Oh, and they need to be accessible before the Elite 4.

I don't know which do I buy

Soul Siver or Heart Gold?

What are the differences?

Thank you

I believe that it's just the exclusive Pokemon that change in each version.

Fighting? How about Hitmonlee evolved from a Tyrouge?

And for the other one, an Alakazam or a Gengar may be good additions even if they are slightly over used. Either that or try an Espeon.

Totodile can eventually learn Bite (Dark), Water Gun (Water), Flail (Normal), and Ice Fang (Ice).

Game: Pokemon Soul Silver
Name: -Chris-
PlayTime:6:18
Badges:1
Pokedex: Seen:27 Obtained: 17
Team: Chikorita :Lv15, Zubat :Lv14, Pikachu :Lv22, Egg :Lv???
Location: Azalea Town heading to the slowpoke well.

Finaly your pokemon can follow you. I could never figure out why they didn't make it a normal thing after Yellow. I hope they make the lead one follow you from now on in all the future games to. So far the game seems awsome. its going to be hard to go back and play platinum again after this I also like how they have more use of the touch screen only the D pad is really needed to play.

Having a hard time deciding on what team I want though its slowing my progress, thinking of adding a staryu and onix not sure about the final one yet.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether I want a water based team, considering I have Slowpoke and I just added Dratini to my repertoire.

Never knew Foresight was so useful - with that attack, my Sentret's normal attacks hit all ghost pokemon

Try it, if you don't believe me, or at least look up the description.
