Hi everyone

I'm new to the usb loader stuff. So i installed all my games to my usb device and needed ios to wii. Configurable usb loader loads up fine using the fat32 verion with Hermes IOS222 version 4. It seems all my games work except Super Smash Brothers Brawl. When i select the cover it goes into the Screen with the options and freezes, saying Wbfs panic: malloc fst. What does that mean? Anyone?

I read somewhere that it may be due to it not being able to find the disc music, so i made it force start. But that returned an error of -1 and crashed the usb loader.

Any ideas?

Thanks

By The way
My wii is pal have tried ssbb ntfs and pal versions

and they are split at .wbfs files?
also i play smash bros off my ntfs without the files being split up and there are no issues, it may be because of all the small files and fragmentation that fat32 causes

why only for ssbb ? If i make another partition on my hd for ntfs will the usb loader understand that i have some games on fat32 and some on ntfs?

could you give me an example of that please?
Lets say my partitions are as follows
Partition 1 Fat32
Partition 2 ntfs

Also i am using the fat32 boot dol, will i have to use a different one for this to work?

you do not have to change your dol for it to work, just press the settings button twice, then go down to partition and select the ntfs one

probably a silly question but where do you just place the iso files on the ntfs drive? in a folder called wfbs still? or what?

Ok i loaded iso and it did this
I just used wii back up manager which made a wbfs structure on my ntfs drive and place a wbfs file in I:\wbfs\Super Smash Bros. Brawl [RSBE01]\RSBE01.wbfs is this correct? cause in Configurable usb loader it didnt not find any games on the ntfs partition

then i removed and did the same thing again and it showed ssbb in the games but when i select the game, wbfs panic: malloc fst even on ntfs

yea it works just the same as fat32 except you could just put it as a .iso
did you remove smash bros from the fat32?

have you tried to use wbfs_file utility to convert your iso ? i did it, and worked perfectly for me, give it a try.

when i get home today i'll try just .iso and see, if that don't work wbfs_file utility. Do you think it may be due to the layer break or something? I'm guessing you are using fat 32?

i don't know really why does this happen, since the only dual-layer game that i have is ssbb.
and oh, i'm using ntfs, only one .wbfs file, but i don't think that fat32 might be the problem at all.

no, here everything plays fine, no slowdowns or anything like. don't know, maybe a bad dump ?

Yes, I have the same problem.
I'm using cfg loader 52b3, cios 249 v17, cios 222 v4.
And I redump the SSBB, the same problem still.

another one here with the same prob

NTFS HDD, file on HDD is ISO (Wii backup manager 0.3.4r4), CFG v51 & Hermes cIOS v4 .. it gives me 'malloc fst' when i start the game (default is 222 mload) or even when I go to options (thus can't set 223) .. Wii also hangs up .. every single other game is working on default CFG settings (only MP3 needs 223 mload), but of course all of them are single-layer

maybe backup manager cannot transfer to NTFS in ISO properly if it's DL ? or something .. I've no idea

from retail disc is fine of course .. I cannot make backup on Wii itself, because NTFS

what other Windows backup managers are able to transfer a ripped DL SSBB ISO to an NTFS HDD in the same manner as Wii Backup Manager ? maybe they work better

eeh u had the Dual-Layer .ISO and converted it to .wbfs format (via this tool) and then put it on your HDD ? and that solved the 'Wbfs panic: malloc fst' for you ?
