Ahem...

Who would ever want to follow the Pokemon anime? And past the first few seasons, it's crap. Or there's an "Ash's Adventure" hack for FireRed that follows his journey pretty accurately.

-8 Directional Movement. It doesn't matter. We can live without 8 directions. Boohoo. Pokemon has always moved on a grid and worked fine.
-Pokemon fusion system It's called breeding. And this is just Shin Megami Tensei rip-off
-Ability to get all 40 Badges. You expect Nintendo to make a game that contains all the game worlds? That's illogical. They could just remake each generation and make more cash
-A legit storyline Pokemon simply can't have anything in the terms of a deep storyline. That's fact
-3d rendering for combat. Pokemon is meant to have the 2-D style to battles. 3-D battle would make things just long winded.
-More choices for starters. Fire-Water-Grass is the choice every time simply because of its triangle. Fire beats Grass, Grass beats Water, Water beats Fire. The triangle is necessary for balance, really.
-Easier ways to level pokemon. Pokemon is about wild encounters and grinding once you beat all the gym leaders and stuff. That's what makes it last hundreds of hours
-More choices on a starting trainer Agreed. Hat choices, clothes, etc. Especially since Pokemon protagonists look like such retards, especially in the newer games.
-Simplify the HM's... This is kinda part of Pokemon. It's meant for you to work together with your Pokemon and build a "bond" or "friendship". Well, that's what they market it as, everyone just uses a HM slave. But why would you want to lose out on awesome HM's like Surf?
-Co-op storyline option. I guess it can't hurt. Although 2v2 battles constantly get a little hairy.

Hmm...things I'd like to see in 5th Gen

-8 Directional Movement. It's the year 2010 FFS, and your game doesn't have 8-directional movement
-Pokemon fusion system...this would COMPLETELY change the strategy involved in Pokemon...it would be a great way to start off a new gen
-Ability to get all 40 Badges...yes that's right, I'm talking about Kanto+Johto+Hoenn+Sinoh+Newzone...that would be EPIC. Talk about content
-A legit storyline...considering the way that Pokemon is structured I DOUBT that this would happen, so w/e
-3d rendering for combat. Spectrobes did it, why not you. In fact, the entire series could benefit from more 3d rendering
-More choices for starters...We've had the whole Fire/Grass/Water choice forever, try adding some more types, like maybe Psychic.
-Easier ways to level pokemon. It took me FOREVER to level to beat Red in HG/SS(WTF lvl 88 Pikachu) so I eventually just used AR so I could f-ing BEAT him. Give us a way to level our pokemon to 100 easier, seriously.
-More choices on a starting trainer...a little character customization wouldn't kill ya, would it?
-Simplify the HM's...the HM has gotten OUT OF CONTROL, there are WAY TOO MANY. Simplify it a bit, no one wants to carry that many pokemon for HM's. It's stupid
-Co-op storyline option. This would be SO COOL, a way to do the storyline in co-op, constantly doing team battles.

This is all I could think of...but there are probably more cool ideas that could be implemented.

-More choices for starters...We've had the whole Fire/Grass/Water choice forever, try adding some more types, like maybe Psychic.

There's no other type-triangle that will work. Don't bring up Dark-Psychic-Fighting because it doesn't work. Psychic doesn't affect Dark, therefore breaking the triangle.

-Simplify the HM's...the HM has gotten OUT OF CONTROL, there are WAY TOO MANY. Simplify it a bit, no one wants to carry that many pokemon for HM's. It's stupid

There's only 9 HMs.

-8 Directional Movement. It's the year 2010 FFS, and your game doesn't have 8-directional movement

It's kind of uncomfortable to press up and right at the same time, same for up left, down left, and down right.

-Pokemon fusion system...this would COMPLETELY change the strategy involved in Pokemon...it would be a great way to start off a new gen

what. Go play Dragon Quest if you want fusion. Pokémon fusion would completely fuck it up.

Meh...I don't want some gimmicky pedometer, I want Nintendo to do something called INNOVATION. You know, the thing that has been largely absent from the series since it first came out? All they've done is add MORE. More Pokemon, more Legendary Pokemon, More HM's, New regions, etc. I can probably count on my right hand all the innovation that has gone into this series.

1.Dual/Type Pokemon
2.Team Battles(2v2)
3.Wifi
4.Running shoes(and even that's a stretch)
5. Yeah...couldn't think of one, and I've played every Main series Pokemon game)

All I'm saying, is that it wouldn't hurt Nintendo to stray out of their comfort zone once in a while and try something new. I know that Zelda hasn't changed since Ocarina, That Mario hasn't changed since 64, and I could probably go on but don't need to. The less Nintendo is willing to try doing something new and different, the less I am willing to respect them as a company. Simple as that(I'm looking at you too, Valve)

1.Dual/Type Pokemon
2.Team Battles(2v2)
3.Wifi
4.Running shoes(and even that's a stretch)
5. Different bikes (Emerald)
6.Pokemon Following you
7. Even the pedometer?
8. Day time/Night time Pokemon
9.Different forms of evolution
10.Breeding and genders
11. Beauty contests
12. Ribbions
13. Berry System
14.Pal park
15. Touch screen?

Just to name a few...

I love how none of you actually address Fusion instead you just say lol go play [x] other game instead. Great comeback...NOT! Fusion has been in plenty of games besides Megaten(ie. Jade Cocoon). For them it was a way to be cheap and add less monster types into the game. For pokemon it COULD be a way to add more depth to a stale franchise.

In fact, some of your arguments are pathetic. "Pokemon has always used a grid, why change now?" "It's too difficult to press up and left at the same time?"(Have you EVER played a fighting game?). Are you all so STUCK in the way that Pokemon has been since RBY that you want this series to remain cookie cutter for the rest of its days?

Level Grind-If I want to do a menial repetitive task, I'll get a job, because at least I get payed for it. I won't just buy a game knowing I'll have to level grind. It isn't fun, it's boring as all hell. It doesn't make the game last longer, it makes me drop the game as soon as I've beaten the final encounter and caught all the legendaries.

3d battle-Wouldn't mind it if It didn't have ridiculous attack animations. Eye candy is nice if I'm using a battle system where I spend half my time reading useless text anyway.

More game worlds-Illogical? It's Illogical that I can't take a F*$#ing boat over to another continent and challenge the gyms there, despite my knowledge of its existence.

HM's-I don't want to lose out on the main ones. I'm talking old school Cut, Flash, Strength, Surf, and Fly. None of this Rock Smash, Rock Climb, Dive crap. Stick to the basics, it isn't a puzzle having to use a new HM, it's a chore.

Story-While a real storyline probably isn't possible, as I stated in my original post, it wouldn't hurt to add some thought to playing through the games, having to figure out where to go next, figuring out how to get through a forest, etc. These places are few and far between(The Farfetch 'd in HGSS) and help spice up the game a little.

Maybe I should clarify. I meant pushing up and left or any other combination on the DS was uncomfortable.

Level grinding- If you don't want grinding in a game, don't play an RPG.

He meant it was illogical because it's Nintendo. Nintendo will milk this franchise for everything it has. They wouldn't dare release a game with all 5 regions, they wouldn't get as much money.

Well first off, I'm pretty psyched about this game's so called rebirth. I'm eager to find what innovations are coming out.

What I wanted to see (people may have said them already, I don't wanna read long essays about it)

1. Like many said: character changes, giving him a clothing choice, etc.
2. Pokemon breeding: Pokemon can be "mutated," given better or worse stats based on random choice.
3. More cool weather appearances that happen everywhere. It can rain from one place and blizzard in another.
4. MAYBE add a Real Time sort of fight, 3D sprites, better graphical depictions of attacks. (This part probably said)
5. Receiving some random email/notifications about cool in-game events.
6. Less Pokemon, more quality! No one cares about Zubat and its evolutions, they suck IMO.
7. Better Pokemon noises (prolly said too, what makes you think I care?)
8. Fourth evolution stages
9. Better story, choosing paths, joining evil organizations
10. Leaderboards for Wifi!
smile.gif

There's some more that I can't think of. Thoughts?

6. Hey, that would be getting rid of some of the original 150. I personally think we should get rid of the retards from generation 4. I can't 1 Pokémon I though was creative from that generation.
8. It'll probably happen
9. Now this is an idea I like.

Well about killing off some Pokemon, I wanted a small group to die. Maybe they can go extinct or something.

omfg... Isn't Nintendo tired of drawing all these ridiculous pokemons? lol. First season was the best. End of Story and Misty also =).

Edit: But I atleast hope they add some more types and add new moves to the movesets. Cause some pokemon's like Electivire has a REALLY shallow moveset...

You know what? GOOD RPG's have grind. GREAT RPG's don't. I never had to grind in FFVII. Never had to grind in KH. Never had to grind in my favorite RPG of all time, FFX.

You know what these games have that Pokemon doesn't? Storyline. Most RPG's you are DONE after you beat the main quest. If all there is left for me to do once I've "Beaten" the game is grinding, than I'll gladly put the game away and play another. The best RPG's are easily beatable without having to go out of your way to grind. In fact, POKEMON is easily "Beatable" without grinding. I could probably name more than the ones I listed here, but there really isn't a need. Hell, I'm playing Sands of Destruction right now, and while it isn't a GREAT Rpg, I certainly don't have to grind.

Perhaps you need to pick up some better games. Or stop playing games that were made for the NES.

That post is like 99.99999999% horseshit. Grinding makes games fun. You can be prouder of your achievements that way, knowing that you raised your character/pokemon how YOU wanted. Games like Sands of Destruction are too generic, too closed up, with little room for true customization. The equips bore me and games like that make me feel like I did not achieve much. What can you showcase with a game like that? A character with "godly" equips? Oooh, I'm blown away. With games that require grinding, you can showcase much better achievements, like a level 100 Pokemon with cool ribbons for contests, etc. What can YOU display in a game that requires little to no grinding?

Horse shit? Yeah, sure, doing a menial task like leveling pokemon over and over again definitely shows that you're better than me. How could I EVER be so ignorant as to believe that some people play video games for other reasons, such as compelling gameplay or engaging storyline. Nope, I see the truth now. It's all about spending hours bashing my head against a controller to grind levels and ultimate weapons, because otherwise I won't feel like I'm achieving anything in this little virtual world contained inside a little cartridge or disk...

Sorry for having fucked with your gaming experience by thinking outside the box folks. Also terribly sorry that you've ever played any game that doesn't involve meaninglessly grinding for levels for no apparent reason other than to feel good about yourselves. In fact, you should take all those games back, and then use your money to buy more pokemon games, so that nintendo will make even MORE games for you to grind endlessly. Just maybe then will you truly feel a sense of accomplishment in your pathetic lives.

Good day.

I would like to point out, as someone else already did (I would quote, but I am too lazy to try and quote across multiples people), that you CAN beat the main game without grinding. Just saying. And if (since) you can beat the main game without grinding, I do believe/agree that making grinding necessary to the ADDITIONAL content to be entirely acceptable. ::BLEGH::

I want to see some "interesting" and new evolution methods. A Ghost/Dragon 4th evolution that requires a Pokemon to be holding the Reaper Cloth and have a complete party wipe while having an empty slot in your party and carrying an extra Dusk Ball in a night battle.....something crazy like that......

Yeah...leaderboards.......

I like the idea of sending in game messages about upcoming in game events.

Lastly, and this one is BIG for me, STOP TREATING THE AMERICAN MARKET LIKE REDHEADED NEGLECTED STEPCHILDREN! Give us "free" events and wifi downloads that DON'T require I go to X store. That's all.

well, considering half the good events in Japan require you go see children's movies and traveling festivals in order to obtain Pokemon I'd say we've got it better :/

Pokemon will never stop being fun (I hope I didn't just "Jynx" it... lol)
well that is true, but it does get repetitive.
I hope they add/delete new types or something, or add in another factor into the battle so that it becomes a lot more strategic. It'll be a lot funner that way. Like a different special move or something for every pokemon.
It's more then repetitive...
