So after the banning of my beloved 360 i finally decided to set up my PSN ID and go a ahead and just convert to Sony for online gaming.

Not as smooth as Live, but still free none the less

My main question here is that how much bandwidth does well lets say MW2 suck up.

My ISP only gives me 4GB Down and 4GB Up every month...so hence my concern.

After extensive googling i never got ONE answer and if i did it wasnt from a trusted source.

I would go ahead a play for an hour or so and see how much bandwidth it will take up, but its nearing the end of the month and ive only got 500mb left so i really wouldn't want to gamble it.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone can personally monitor it for me as in play an hour or so and monitor how much bandwidth it takes up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, so 50mbs for an hour on average...hmmm so im guessing the game seems to suck up 30kb/s down and about 20kb/s up ... thanks, guess ill just buy more bandwidth, there's no way then 4GB a month will by enough.

Thanks again !

You need more than 4gb bandwidth...
i have 6 on my phone xD, 60 on my computer

Well if you can see what kind of country i live in you'd understand.

I mean YES there is unlimited, but its too latent and thus out of the question for online gaming. Few ppl take the limited planes, hence much better pings.

Unlimited FTW.

WE have "unlimited" internet which only comes if you take the 256kb/s plan... yes i know 256kb/s lol, how much can you download with a fucking 30kb/s download speed.

thats nothing demos and psn games are 2gb+ per download! plus you have updates for games aswell.

I dnt download demos or anything, i only play MW2 online so im all good.

Is that mobile broadband? Can't you get a better ISP ?

Trust if i could i would. There is only one ISP here, called Ogero, it sells connections to other smaller private companies so essentially its all the same.

Lebanon is known for its over priced internet which at the same time is pretty crap.

The fastest you can get to your home is 2mb... and that will cost you a fucking fortune were talking about 200$ USD if not more per month.... also comes with a limit of 12GB (6 Down and 6 Up) ... believe it or not. HEck my line can only take 512 kb/s... just goes to show what a fail country this is.

unlimited is rarely actually unlimited.
there is likely a cut-off point in the fine print
No.

unlimited = you get capped instead of paying for data
No.

This applies to most if not all ISPs here in Sweden. As I've understood things though, this kind of situation that we have here (and in the neighboring countries) is really unusual. Most other countries does not have real unlimited Internet connections and has annoying limits of various magnitudes in place.

Nope.. I don't think there is. Downloaded over 50GBs in one month, never got capped and I'm paying regular price.

Lucky

anyway just came back to see all the replies

you guys seriously dnt understand how bad it is here, but at least im getting consistent pings. Like i said the bandwidth is available (but extremely Limited) but the latency is a great issue here. If you want the unlimited bandwidth plans you sacrifice the ping rates and vice-versa.

I honestly don'y mind ending up pay 30$ for the extra bandwidth i go over ( its 10$ for every 1GB over).

Anyway thanks again for all the feedback.
