Hacking Wanin to release DIP source

As per Waninkoko's official twitter page, the DIP plugin source code will be released under the BSD license tomorrow.

It has been discussed OVER AND OVER. There's no way to do it. It's a SET LIMITATION of softmods. Period.
(It's a because they're exploiting the Wii's DVD read functions. But I'm digressing here.)

As for the news itself, great to hear. Opensource is the way to go, I'm glad Waninkoko is finally doing it.

Certain modchips do this. Like the Wasabi DX with the Zero clip.

Finaly! I don't expect that a cIOS with proper SD-Handling and/or a way for the IOS-Reloading games will show up soon or even ever, but maybe the DL-Bug will be fixed by someone? Creating finaly a cIOS with no downsides/bugs? I hope so...

Anyways, I hope that some good things will happen, and that Nintendo won't use the Source to create a new Protection...now let's wait and see.

cios rev 17 has the DL bug fixed, don't think it supports fat32 usb loaders though

Agreed ...was just thinking the same.
This public release should be "controled"...to only a set of relliable modders.
