Hi all

I have got a wii which is fully bricked. I have tried several methods to unbrick but have had no success. The wii turns on but gives no audio/visual output and the wiimote wont sync.

I want to reflash the nand using an infectus chip but do not have the keys for my wii!!! is there any way i can get them without the wii turning on?

Thanks

Dan

u want to talk to DeadlyFoez

he is working on some cutting edge stuff, he's trying to figure out how to fix bricked wii's that do not have a nand dump + keys using infectus. As far as I know, fixing a wii that doesn't have a nand dump + keys has NEVER been done... yet.

I'm actually going to send my aunts wii (which is in the same bricked situation u r in) to deadlyfoez so he can try to come up with a solution. If he figures it out, I guarantee this forum will be flooded with discussions over it.

Good luck, but i think for the time being, your screwed.

I've searched the internet and found a link where it shows how to extract the keys of a console from a NAND dump (the keys are there, you know...). After this, you get a NAND from another Wii (via BootMii) and uses "Betwiin" to convert the NAND of the other Wii to be compatible with yours using the keys. After all this work, reflash using Infectus.

I'll see if I can find it.

Could you share the link with us? "the keys are there, you know..." is a bit vague..

@tattar8 : A nand dump can be obtained using infectus...

Thanks for the replies lads

So as i see it my only option is to ge a new moterboard (£70)

Is there anyway to retrieve to keys from the chip using an infectus chip then combine them with a dump from a similar wii and reflash? As this is a cheaper option (around £30 for infectus)

Uh, yes it has and it's not some super-secret technique.
- Flash bootmii to the bricked wii's nand
- Use it to get the bricked wii's keys
- Use betwiin to convert a working nand dump using the bricked wii's keys.
- Flash the newly converted nand dump to the bricked wii, and enjoy.
Alternative technique: after flashing bootmii to the bricked wii, use a nand formatter to start from scratch.

This method can only be done if the bricked wii can use bootmii as boot2. If it's got the fixed boot1 forget it.

my wii is a few years old and was bought as soon as they where released so im guessing i would be able to install bootmii to the nand. but as my wii has noe audio/visual output at all would i still be able to get the keys?

cheers again

Last year i bricked a Wii (no audio or visual) and the nand backup I had would not restore it using bootmii even though it was install as a boot2.

As i last effort i sent it back to ninty and was surprised to see that they repaired it free of charge and returned it to me within 2 weeks. The wii was out of warranty i and had no proof of purchase. So if you cant fix it that is an option.

I may have just been lucky though!

thanks

That makes sence now lol

Does it have to be a dump from the same region or am i simply just going to get the bootmii part from the dump?
