Hi Fellow Wii Modders
smile.gif

My wifes friend gave me their wii they bought off ebay $AU 400 with 30 games too good to be true? yeh its pre modded with neo gammer installed as a channel and all burnt games.

They have given me there wii and a hdd to install all there games onto a hard drive with wiiflow or openwiiflow. Anyway i downloaded the update.zip file from the guide here and im getting an error saying there is no vulnerable ios installed on this wii. I get this error straight after going through wii->settings->data manage->channels->sd card i get get the popup click yes to run then the error

Wii is running 4.0

I get the error on hackmii v0.6

I tried updating the wii manually to 4.2 via wifi but when i goto setup internet it askes me for a pin code which was not supplied with the wii.

Anyone got any ideas?

btw ive soft modded 5 wiis so far all went floorlessy so ive got a general idea of whats going on. im stumped

to get the PIN, run this dol and see what it says.

i made it for something else, but it should show the PIN, the answer to the security question, and what the parental control is set to. just ignore the rest of whats on the screen.

tried that getting the same black screen

also tried putting in wii sports resort to see if it askes to update via disc it doesnt seem to load discs via disc channel either thats a real one not burnt.

Im wondering if this Wii has had cIOSCORPS installed? If you have changed an IOS using DOP-IOS then this MIGHT have disrupted disc channel loading. Have you checked Neogamma to see if cIOS249 still works?

The black screen issue has me confused. Try scouring the forums on here, you're probably not the only one. Have you tried holding down RESET immediately after switch on? If Preloader/Priiloader is installed it should kick in at this point. If so, check the hacks to see if the 'BLOCK DISC UPDATES' is enabled.

Tried pressing reset as soon i power on the wii it takes me to the safety screen where it says press a to continue.

Now when i try to load neogamma i get a black screen too

Will try some searching around

getting somewhere

used this site http://wii.marcansoft.com/parental.psp

to unlock the parental control which worked. have to make sure your wii is on the correct date first. Running an update via wii now that should fix it. will post how it goes

btw to get the confirmation number go into wii settings select parental control, click i forgot and i forgot.

I guess thats why it had the parental control setup because an update bricks it.

Only 4.2. If you would just updated to 4.1 you will be OK now. Sorry, man.
