That was poorly worded. It loads it like the disc channel does. The launcher is a Homebrew Channel application and should theoretically be usable in the same situations as any other app... so forwarders, iso entries, or self-contained wad channels should work. Can't say anything for sure til it comes out yet.

Great, that was the info I was looking for. Seems like it should be business as usual for me just a case of switching the embedded dol files in my iso. Anyway I will await the release. I believe I read that it will also support regular DLC, so in theory I should be able to have a FAT partition on my HDD containing a combo of DLC and customs and not have any problems playing either, provided I use a retail disc and launch it with the loader.

I'd like to know this too... from what I've gathered, RawkUSB (aka Modern Rawkfare, for some reason) is just like RawkSD but with a USB HDD because HDD's fit more DLC
biggrin.gif
....
and can someone answer my orig. Question?RawkUSB works like RawkSD in that it continues to allow you to make custom songs and to import songs from most other music games. It differs in that it will support USB and SDHC storage of songs, both for imports/customs and for original DLC.

Also, your original question... this one?
QUOTE(cvgoldensun @ Dec 14 2009, 07:31 PM) What do you have to do to prep a wii for this? I Have cIOS rev 14 (and Hermes 222/223). I did that thing that allowed me to play VC games off my SD card menu.
I copied over the Rawk SD files properly. Anything else I should look out for?
---
Also, is it possible to load all of the normal DLC (that's usually bought in the store) with RawkSD (I have been having problems with DLC and my USB loader
tongue.gif
)? Where could I download the files necessary for that?
There is no prep work really, not until the next version release. All you need is a Rock Band 2 disc, the ability to run homebrew, and perhaps a vulnerable IOS with which to run the IOS patcher. And yes, it will load normal DLC. However, I think you will be disappointed because RawkSD 3.0 will only work with store-bought copies of RB2 - backup copies and USB loaders can't be used.

I didn't even know you could make backup copies of dlc?

The part about DLC and backup copies are two separate sentences. The backup copies refers to the RB2 game disc, nothing to do with the DLC.

Just installed the RawkSD 2.02 and when I go to import songs I get an error on my computer saying "RawkSd has stopped working. an error has caused this program to stop working.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate.

What about DVD Reader dont work?

Thats is my case, the only way i can play is throught usb-loader because my dvd reader is broken.... I had to play 5 songs, restart Wii, clean memory and return to rock band.. I know that is my circunstance for play on USB loader.

if u can share the source code of the USB or SHDC, someone can implement on a CIOS.

Source won't be released and they don't want to support piracy. Come on, it's been said at least three times by one guy who isn't een a member of the dev team- why would they bend over backwards for pirates when those with the original game can do it with no problems whatsoever while those with backup copies generate more problems for everyone?

So... would I be correct to assume that instructions WILL be posted on how to put STORE-BOUGHT DLC onto a USB hard drive? I really want to have my hard drive hold all that stuff

We all know that much songs could not fit on a SD Card. We also know that he did not buy all of those songs, thus they are "backups" they will work on the new RawkSD. Unless am i missing something or this is a completely different hacker.

I'm saying that I don't have the original CD. I'm using a backup copy of the game. Apparently it shouldn't work with RawkSD.

We (the proper developers, not SFenton) never said it wouldn't work, it's just not supported by us (which means if it doesn't work for you we don't care).

That's a better answer, thanks.
So, modchip users are safe as retail disk owners.
And softmod users won't have any support (can work but if it don't the developers don't care)

maybe it'll play that "you are a pirate" song (complete with very good charts) every time you try to load pirated dlc

It will be handled the same way as you do it now - by downloading the songs using the music store in the game.

I think he meant moving existing DLC that's already been purchased. Can we just drag and drop from SD to HDD?

Also I don't get what all the hubub is about pirate this and USB loader that. I used aparannoyedwii's unpacker/re-encrypter one time to make all my DLC and other disc rips usb-loader compatible. Now after I play I delete everything from the NAND. Sure it's an extra step, but it takes maybe a minute and doesn't really bother me since I don't play RB2 enough to really get annoyed by it.

Does Modern Rawkfare also copy DLC to the real nand or does it use nand emulation?
