The sav file fix worked for me as well on an M3i Zero with 1.44.

It seems there must be an issue with the firmware though that makes using this save file necessary. Any one know know if a fix is being worked on?

All I can tell you is that according to M3 Forums 'they are working on it" - how long before a fix from them I don't know

i was wondering how do you create multiple saves of a single game, even if the game only allows one save to be made?I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you referring to this?QUOTE(Densetsu3000 @ Oct 1 2009, 04:30 PM) How to Restore Old Saves in Sakura
Sakura keeps a log of the last several times you saved for every game, even if a game normally only allows you to have one save file.
1. From Sakura's main GUI, press SELECT. This takes you to the File Launcher.
2. While in the Recent Applications tab, select the ROM for which you want to restore an old save (do not tap the ROM, just highlight it by pressing Up/Down).
3. Press START to enter the Save File Restore menu.

Using this feature, you can return to any time that you saved in the game (up to the last several times), even though you wouldn't be able to access the saves normally through the game itself. Note that the most current save data (accessible in-game) will be lost if you restore an old save.
The firmware automatically does it for you. If you're talking about .sav files, the only thing you can do is back them up.

If you have a ROM, like Spirit_Tracks.nds and a save file called Spirit_Tracks.sav, you can make a copy of the .sav, rename the copy to Spirit_Tracks1.sav and keep it on your card. Doing it that way, you can have as many saves as you want (Spirit_Tracks2.sav, Spirit_Tracks3.sav and so on), and to revert to an old save you need only delete the number.

Not sure if I answered your question, but hope this helps.

TO have multiple saves you can also use the RTS function on the M3 (Real Time Save). There is an RTS 1 and RTS 2 so you can have those two saves going aswell as the one that it used for the actual game.

Thanks for the heads-up, I'm downloading now

*EDIT*
It's been updated. I'm testing TouchPod 4.7 right now to see if I can get a clean dump of Spirit Tracks to load without the usual problems.

4527-Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, The (U)

EDITED :~1/2Hr Later:
I can confirm that Touchpod 4.7x DOES WORK with a clean 'Zelda: Spirit tracks (U)' ROM: (Using DSi v1.4E + 2Gb SDHC card)
>It doesn't lock up on the Nintendo Screen
>You can get onto the train & it doesn't lock up
>The train controls appear in the game
>It also saves your position OK.
(Note I only went as far as getting onto the train & started off towards the castle)

Bad News: It STILL DOESN'T WORK through Sakura 1.44 though - guess we have to wait for an update to that
More Bad News: It also DOESN'T Work through Touchpod if you use a 8GB SDHC card

I still get stuck at the Nintendo logo white screens.

I tried it in TouchPod.

*EDIT 1* BTW what's the CRC of the clean dump ROM you're using?

*EDIT 2* Mine is 3170189F
Sorry it took so long - I didn't know how to find the CRC until I realised it gets shown when I use IZArcToGo to extract it.

It's the same - 3170189F

Oh & I also made a mistake - I got it originally working on a DSi 1.4E + 2GB MicroSD card - not a 8GB
Tried it again on the 8Gb & I've got the same thing as you - locks up on the Nintendo screen, so I guess that's the reason
(I've altered my original post above)

densetsu release - also you say 4Gb, well that's a SDHC card isn't it !! - try it on a 2Gb if possible & see if it works or not & post back.

To All: - I've posted a Bug report on M3 Forums to let the developers know about this. Whether they read it or not I don't know

As long as you have the hacked .sav file, the clean dump works whether you use the clean TouchPod release or the combo I've uploaded on the first post.

*EDIT*
I'm using a 4GB A-Data Class 6.

hacked save file is 980KB and the one made by touchpod is 512KB. Does this have to do with our problem? Maybe the game need 1024kb save file or something like that

I've just tried Densetsu combine that with my existing hacked sav (I've got up to the 3rd Spirit track map) on my 8Gb card & can confirm it works through Touchpad fine - but when trying through Sakura - even thought I can start game, it locks up once I get on the train, so I guess I still have to wait for a Sakura update

I don't know how it works, but the 512KB save file is definitely the source of the problem. Maybe the M3 guys can to add an option to the firmware in the NDS ROM settings that allows you to choose between creating 512KB and 1MB .sav files. It might fix some issues with other games as well.
