with cf 49b-fat the hide_hddinfo = 1 is not working anymore even if i have it in my conf file
You probably have 49b normal, not -fat.
The hide_hddinfo is theme specific, so unfortunately adding it to config.txt will not work as expected.
You can add it to your preferred theme.
Or verify if you really have the 49b-fat version, if not update to that one.
If you do have the 49b-fat version then maybe hide_hddinfo=0 is in your theme.

I might change the behaviour so that config.txt always overrides all themes
(Which i think Clipper already suggested once)

edit: another thing to check, as suggested by Clipper is the simple=0 option which sets hide_hddinfo=1

If the files were each in it's own directory then the id_title.txt files would not be useful anymore, as you would be seeing all the directories first, and after that all the txt files, (at least on windows) so the direct association between the gameid and title is lost. While if the txt file is moved along the rest of the files in the separate directory then you can't have a quick overview of all the titles. I know that a view of all the files named by ID is not pretty to look at, but i don't think moving them to separate directories will make that any better? Besides now that this is all in place and working I don't feel like changing it anymore.
the id_title.txt could be kept in the base /wbfs/ dir and the actual wbfs files in a subdir based on the game ID - imo this would look the tidiest and be the easiest way of copying games from drive to drive without accidentally missing a file.

WRT your "proximity" worries - well not all of us use windows for a start! And windows can easily be set to sort dirs/files together, rather than separate. Even if someone wanted to keep their wbfs dir sort method the same as all their others then it's not a huge stretch to know which file goes with which dir - no matter how they are sorted.

Also, at some point we will run into the fat32 files per dir limit:

"A FAT32 directory can have 65,536 directory entries. Each file and subdirectory takes from two to thirteen entries, depending on the length of its name". Not a huge issue with the small 1tb drives most people are using - but surely it's better to future proof?

QUOTE(oggzee @ Oct 30 2009, 04:33 PM) After all as hibern put it, it's just a some stupid tool mostly used by pirates, what are you gonna do, sue?
http://gpl-violations.org/faq/legal-faq.html

Doesn't matter who it's mostly used by - going to court is exactly what happens, to protect the integrity of gpl.

You are a little bit late, i guess you haven't noticed the v49 release which allows you to have sub directories like:
/wbfs/GAMEID_TITLE/GAMEID.wbfs
which makes the id_title.txt files obsolete.

Maybe a dumb question, but to use the new folder system in v49, I have to re-rip al my games or there is a way to manually move the exysting wbfs files?

Yes, you can use wbfs or fat.

Just make sure to download the fat version of CFG if your going to use fat rather than wbfs.

in wbfs_file 1.9 there is a batch file converting the old files into subfolders... you can find it also some posts ago...
EDIT you can find it also here

I did. same thing.
What if you switch off the drive?
I always do that, since it never recognizes the drive right away; I have to turn it off and on about 2 or 3 times until it does.
What version of the loader are you using? Try making it default to ios222 or ios223 by adding "ios-222-mload" or "ios=223-mload" to your config.txt.
It now works on my slightly older revision (not sure which one it is, but it is one where you cannot change saved options without discarding them first)
It doesn't work on the channel version for me.
UGH Now it's not working again; And nothing changed from yesterday to today

Did you try setting ios=222-mload as your default? Some drives like it to be loaded earlier than just before the game. Also, try disabling spindown on your drive if you can.

Haven't tried that yet; But now it seems to be working about 25% of the time, quite randomly

I've been trying to compile and run wbfs_file on my DD-WRT/optware equipped router, it compiles just fine but gives the following error when I attempt to convert an iso to .wbfs:

error seeking disc 65536
error reading disc: Invalid argument

anyone have any thoughts?

As promised here is an update to Simple WBFS File Manager to version 2.4.0.0

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TSQ4LL2B
Update to 2.5.0.0 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OZT7AA8Y

This update contains alot of rewritten code, so please report any bugs to me so I can get them fixed right away. I have done extensive testing on the app, but I am not perfect
smile.gif

Changes to 2.4
Added a settings dialog to configure preferences
Added export to csv function
Added directory recursion, to be compatible with CFG 49. *This option can be turned on/off in settings.
Changed the code to disallow multiple instances to be open
The data entry boxes in the custom_titles manager will now properly clear when adding a title
Added the ability to press the enter key in the custom_titles manager to add entry to the table
Added covers display in a seperate moveable window, support for flat,3d, disc and full
Added the ability to disable the splash screen at startup
Added options to allow which partitions to copy when performing conversion and copy operations
Added the ability to choose the language of titles.txt to download
Added cover download preference for custom/normal disc and normal/HQ full covers
Fixed a bug that would place the application window behind other windows after processing
Fixed a couple of bugs that would cause invalid exceptions in certain configurations

Still to do:
Allow for files to be placed in subdirectories after conversion/extraction
I did not include this as it is late, I am tired and I wanted this stable and released before I go back to work tomorrow
smile.gif

Please give it a try and let me know your thoughts
smile.gif

UPDATE: Doing some further bugchecking, found a couple small ones so far. if there is a missing info file, all items below it will show as having missing info as well. The program is also not adding to the notes field if a title is not found in titles.txt. Since both of these are minor errors, they will be fixed in the next version, which, barring any major errors, should be out tomorrow night.

Found another one
frown.gif
After processing the console window will be hidden behind the main window. minimize and restore to fix this problem, I have fixed the issue and will include it in 2.5

Latest Configurable USB loader v48 acts funny with my newly brought Kingston 16gb SDHC goes with the same with v47. Haven't tried other versions.

If using a forwader channel, It won't load up at all as it can't detect/load from SDHC. Now if I start it up from Homebrew Channel it loads up but images, saved options will not load from the card and if I try too save an option for one of my games it says something like 'error SD card is Inaccessible'
frown.gif

My 2gb run it's fine. I know it's not my card as every other homebrew that supports SDHC reads it fine, such as Wad manager, Region Changer, CIOS installer and usb loader gx.

So can anyone help me

Couldn't let it go with known bugs so here is Simple WBFS File Manager 2.5.0.0

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OZT7AA8Y

Fixed a couple bugs in the notes field
Fixed bug that would cause the console window to be hidden behind the main window after processing
Added option to the settings to create subdirectories on convert/extract operations
*This means all convert/extract operations, wbfs to iso, iso to wbfs, wbfs partition to iso/wbfs
So if you have this option on and you extract to iso files, each iso will be in its own directory

The folder names are named as GameID_Game_Name
All special characters are removed from the folder name and spaces are replaced with underscores
The Game Name is derived first from custom_titles.txt, then from titles.txt, if neither of those are found it will get the name from inside the file itself.

I had the same problem with a Kingston 4GB SDHC. The loader wouldn't see it. I think there was someone else with a similar problem as well. I tried a few things and was never able to get that card to work with this loader. I just ended up going back to my old card.

cfg v49b2

cfg49b2.dol
cfg49b2-fat.dol
(or online update)
Changes:
cfg v49b2

* Improved speed of loading game list when using FAT and /wbfs/id_title/ subdirs
* Changed default: fat_install_dir=1
* When downloading titles.txt and wii region is JA or KO force EN in titles_url {CC}
* Allow specifying alt_dol=name (on disc) when using direct start
* Accept GAMEID without # as argument for direct start (RHAP01 instead of #RHAP01)
* Override some theme options in base config.txt.
The options that can be overriden are those that don't
have a major effect on the theme looks and layout:
- hide_header
- hide_hddinfo
- hide_footer
- buttons
- simple
- cover_style
- cursor
- menu_plus
- gui_text_*
- gui_text2_*
- gui_title_top
* Save cfg loader version when saving gamelist.txt

cfg v49b

* Added BCA dump to file from install menu
(Press + to install and then press 1 to dump BCA)

cfg v49a

* Games on SDHC with IOS 222/223 for both FAT or WBFS partition
* Games in subdirs on FAT: /wbfs/GAMEID_TITLE/GAMEID.wbfs
option: fat_install_dir = [0], 1
* Rename old boot.dol to boot.dol.bak when upgrading
* If the loader is used to start a game directly
(from a channel created with crap or similar tools)
and option: intro=0 is specified then no intro
and no progress is displayed until the game is started
* Support for .wip game patches (by WiiPower)
Loaded from: sd:/usb-loader/GAMEID.wip (text format)
* Support for BCA data (by Hermes)
Loaded from: sd:/usb-loader/GAMEID.bca (binary data of size 64 bytes)
(updated dip plugin from uloader 3.2)
* option: disable_nsmb_patch=[0],1 will disable the builtin nsmb patches
(in case someone wants to use/test the external .wip patch or .bca data)
* Enable WiiRD if usb gecko is connected and ocarina is enabled
even if not codes are found (by Rfrf)
* Ocarina url fix: /R/ID6 instead of /ID1/ID6 (for SNM*)

About game list loading speed: using a simulated 2000 games dir, the time to list all games dropped from 1 minute to 1 second.
