I'm surprised the disc check doesn't work. What happens if you use it with a normal disc in the drive? Read error?

The menu uninstaller is understandable. Dev wiis use a different title (or so I heard) for the SM, not to mention deleting it on a retail wii bricks it.

The banners are probably useful as bases for an animation for an HB wad though...any chance you could PM me the wads for the banners? Don't link them here obviously...

You have the RVT Discs dumped? If you do, they'd be something to look at. Is there by chance a system menu 1.0 wad in the ISO? I've been looking for that menu for ages, as well as several others. Only menu I haven't messed with since I can't find it anywhere.

Try out the disc check and tell me how it goes. That one likely will work, albeit it is quite useless. It just gives stuff like the disc CRC...

As I said, not surprising the menu uninstaller didn't work. If did it'd need to be renamed: Wii Brick Creator

Ok, so there is some progress here. The channels will be soon(ish) installable on a retail Wii and full usable too.

Anyone needing more info drop me a PM.

Ah and happy new year BTW.

If we make the menu uninstaller work, we'd need to rename it "Wii Bricker" since its all it's really good for. Retail Console - SM = brick (without bootmii).

Anyway, happy new year to you! I look forward to seeing something soon. Been following this topic since it was posted on here...

@Sangor - The disc check app is really not that useful. As for uninstalling the system menu, I was wondering the same thing. The only thing is, retail wiis don't have that console-based dev menu, they just brick. The menu on dev wiis also supposedly has a different title ID. I think its ".WMU" or some such...

@djbubba2002 - I'd love to know how you managed it and where to get the stuff to mess with this myself (PM if you care to share it).

And to everyone: Happy new year from the USA East Coast!

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
