Just read the whole topic through, seems very nice. Also about making it possible to load files into the game using ocarina, I think you should talk to some of the brawl hackers as they have found out the codes to replace files in the game (I think phantomwings was the one who made most of those ocarina codes, but he's probably buisy).

We've already spoken with them. SD loading via Ocarina will not work because NSMBWii does not, in any way, access the SD card.

@Treeki and crew. This GUI is looking awesome. Are you planning on adding all of the features in your head before an initial release, or will you be putting this out soon and building onto it?

And it isn't possible forcing it to use it either?

Why cant you put the actual level in an Ocarina code? I know it'd be huge, but it would mean you wouldnt need the game to have SD functions. Maybe you dont understand me, but it makes sense in my head...

Even if using Ocarina codes was possible... it's far from practical

It'd be hundreds of lines of codes just to change even the smallest things. Prolly tends of thousands just to alter a level superficially.

TranslatIOS seems to be the best case right now, aside from just Packing custom ISO's yourself.

During the GH2 modding days, you used GHEX to extract the iso... edit and import the files you wanted over the original songs, then you edited the save file name and then packed it back up and either burned it or tossed it on an HDD and it played as a separate game (Able to have separate save files) without a problem. This will prolly be the way it's done with NSMBWii unless TranslaIOS gets finished and they manage to get it working with NSMBWii

Just my 2 cents. But the whole 'using arc files' and what not is almost identical to the GHEX method with GH2

whats so bad about repacking a iso
I mean not everybody is going to use this only the people that really what to and if they REALLY whant to they will extract the arc files and modify them place them back and recompile the iso...

I used that crappy beta thing from Tanooki (can't call it a program...)
map looks like shit because your editing block's :S
but it works about 50 up's in lvl 1-1 (rest is unmodded)

I used WIIISORenamerv3 to change the name of de game and the gameid
(NSMB02 - Modded Super Mario Bros. Wii)

coverted it to a wbfs

and made a cover image for it placed it in my wbfs folder

and it works

But my point is if your LAZY don't do it !

Love the screen shot btw Really Really love them

I hope you take your time te debug and created a nice program
because i'm planning on a whole new mario game

Then dont fucking use it. You should have been aware of the "block editing" as there is a screenshot of the program. Until you can release a better program either deal with it or STFU.

I'm just curious - can the levels from New Super Mario Bros. DS be ported to New Super Mario Bros. Wii?
I'm just curious, because I reckon it'd be a lot more fun with some real co-op going on.

Also, are there plans for custom power ups, enemies and sprites?QUOTE(YayMii @ Nov 16 2009, 08:55 PM) BTW: There's no Mega Mushroom in this game. So anybody wishing to recreate the original NSMB's levels will have to improvise.
Star, I guess.

Can't wait for this!

Hey guys. Some Chinese have hacked in some quick SD loading support for your level loading pleasure. Unfortunately, it supports only the EU/AUS ISO and only seems to load a level for 1-1. For those of you who don't mind futzing with your Wii a bit more, you might just want to take a look at this. We don't have any connection with these guys so direct any questions about it to them. As of right now, we have our own method of SD loading in the works, but this might be an interesting tool to take a look at for the time being.

Better than no program at all, what can you expect beta 1 had 3 days to get developed.
