I have, it was the first thing I saw. I don't see any suggested fix for the green screen.

I updated to cIOS v15 and installed IOS53 just in case. No change, still Green.

guess what you are using PAL game in an NTSC wii? try to use the AutoPatch mode for the video mode. btw what loader are you using?
Yes, I am, but I set it to Force NTSC...
I'll check what loader I'm using when I get home. It's an older one, back from when cIOS v12 was the current version.
then update your loader then. check the loaders on the link that i had shared with you which can load the game.

Where can I learn more about cIOSes?

Specifically, I had cIOS36 installed on 3.2U. Now I've upgraded to 4.2 and need to upgrade IOSes. There's 349, 222 etc.

How do I know/learn which one to install (if any)? I'd like to install open wiiflow and I need one of them.

many thanks to the savvy helpers to us noob-boobs.
information on cios.
http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/cios

btw maybe you reffering to 249 and not 349. nobody is a noob unless he first read and search. after searching and reading then still could not understand what he just read, then that's a noob.

I can't install Hermes' Ios222/223 & IOS249!
I've tried both of them, and when I press A to install, the Wiimote disconnects, the Wii disk slot's light turns of, and nothing happens! Can anyone help me? I used the guide: Hermes' Ios222/223 IOS249
it looks like you have no vulnerable ios for hacking. you need TBR to do so. if you are 4.1 below follow this: http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/hacking-guide/trucha; if you are at 4.2 then this: http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ha.../trucha-bug-4-2.

edit: btw, 249 is by waninkoko not by hermes.

hi, i have a pal wii with 3.4e and a d2pro soldered mod chip
i dont have any loaders or home brew, th only channel i ever use is the disk channel.
i pop my game in (original or backup) and play, this was easiest for the wife.

the most recent update i did was for wii sports resort.
can i update the system using the update on the NSMB disk and still play my other backups?
will NSMB work from the disc chanell with the main.dol patch?

sorry for the noob question but i only really use the wii for guitar hero!
28 years old and got the full band, i feel like a kid.

i assume you are reffering to xzxero's guide? the guide is simply perfect and really does what it says.anyways it is useless to cry over spilled milk might as well start over.

you have to reinstall HBC: http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ha...uide/the-basics
next you have to restore trucha bug to your wii: http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ha.../trucha-bug-4-2
Awesome thanks for this!
I followed all the steps and it worked great so far, however when I put my backups in they don't show up in the disc channel like they used to, is there a way to get that back? Also, my back up of New Super Mario Wii loads, the screen goes green and then goes back to the Wii Menu. Any help with either of these?

you are welcome. thank the xzxero, tj_cool, nabster92, and the rest of the guys who made the complete soft mod guide. i am just here to help and share their info.

anyways if you really want to play backups through the disc channel without any modchip you have to install cioscorp. a bit risky though because this changes almost majority of the ios of your wii. read through the thread of cioscorp for all information about it.

but i do suggest usb loading...much faster and don't have to mess around with ios. you could also run backup disc using neogamma or gecko os...or even loader gx and the new uloader mod (3.1b not sure of the revision).

on the nsmb green screen. usually results from playing pal game to an ntsc wii. play around with the video mode setting of your backup loader. usually "AutoPatch" or "Force NTSC" if your wii is NTSC.

Well, I've always used backup launcher, but the games initially showed up in the regular wii channel, I just couldn't play them through it, but now it just says that it can't be read (even though I can still run from the backup launcher). And I wanted to try the USB loader, but I don't have an external harddrive so I've been unable to, and thanks for the Mario tip! I'll try it out tomorrow

Help!

I was running a softmod on a 4.2U system using a tutorial from another website, had cios38rev14 installed and preloader .3 rev 4. Saw that rev15 of the cios came out and decided to install it. Read about the bugs so I reverted back to rev14. At this point everything is still working fine. I then try and install priiloader for the disc spin fix. This is where the problems come in. Priiloader says it cannot install because I do not have an IOS with es_diverify(i think), so i get IOS36 patcher and that installs successfully. Go back to priiloader which installs fine now, but my system menu won't load(no error just flashes the priiloader screen), I try to revert back to preloader and it does but with a bug and system menu still wont load. Ive tried re-dopping ios 36 to no avail. I CAN load the homebrew channel and bootmii IOS just comes up with an error. I'm a little confused here, any help restoring my system menu would be greatly appreciated. I also DID make a NAND backup, is that the best route?

just reinstall your system menu 4.2U. you can use NUSD to pack a wad for the system menu. get that wad then install it using wad manager 1.5. surely you will remove priiloader/preloader installation then just reinstall preloader 0.3rev4 if that is the version that works for you. preloader 0.3rev4 works for me too. priiloader is a bit buggy for me also.

I try not to ask questions...usually I can find what I need just by reading...
But I cant find anything on this.

DVDx v2 will not install/work from the Hackmii installer.
DVDx v1 didnt work either the first time I tried it...so I didnt worry about it...and I havent played with it for months....
really want to get this working...and Ive just spent 3 hours looking for an answer and couldnt find anything...hopefully I am not blind as well as dumb.

Anyone with any idea/answer.....is there something else I need to install? patch?

I am working off of firmware 4.0U.

Thanks

Then the guide advices to update to 4.2 so i did update my wii with zektor's V4.2 safe firmware updater.
And here is the problem. I have to restore the trucha bug through HBC but when i get to Bootmii and start HBC there is only black screen.

Found my answer.

New Question.
cry.gif

Wasnt covered in the readme..and didnt find a post on it (unless my search skills are really that bad.)

I decided to go ahead and upgrade to 4.2U. (just to be up to date)
Went thru all the steps in the "Modify any Wii 4.2 & below" thread...went to install cIOSCorp 3.5 and I keep getting an error.

Error reads as:
Retrieving device contents, please wait.....Error (ret = -1)

Any idea where I screwed up?
If nothing else I will just run bootmii and restore...but just wanted to stay current instead of falling behind and trying to play catch up like I am doing now...lol

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Hi, just a quick question:

- What partition formats are all supported when it comes to USB loaders? or does any format will go?

Oh hai all
been happly plodding along on 3.2J & D2C ModChip with a few IOS and Cios installations
Just got NeoGamma R8Beta12, and installed Cios v14
First time in MONTHS I updated something
Now course.. like everyone else in the world -- trying to get NSMB to work
Getting green screen then black.. nothing

I really don't fancy having to re download/burn all my Truncha disks
Or "risk" a brick

So what is it you guys rekon I may deffo need in terms of firmware to run this?
http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-games/28589-gu...mario-bros.html clames I have the right NeoGamma
and http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901 will take hours

@Kree_boy

try if this will solve your problem: install the older version of ios30 and install the latest version of ios61 with no patches then try to re-run hackmii installer.

cioscorp might have modified the ios that hackmii installer uses.

and as far as i remember, cioscorp have a dvdx fix because it was know that it has this problem, not sure though. i was a cioscorp user before but shifted to modchip due to issues like this.
