I am tired of this 165 pages for no reason what so ever.

Get cios rev 15 and uloader 3.1. Start up uloader 3.1 (you dont need HErmes cios222 because NSMB uses 249). Play it either through USB or DVD.

I have a 3.3U softmodded Wii and have been playing though a burnt disc for a long time now.

The front page has some mistakes Neogamma will NOT run this game softmodded with cios rev15. Neogamma runs ZERO games through cios rev15. Rev 15 broke neogamma.

Running NSMB on a 3.4U Wii
WiiKey modded
Scrubbed and Fixed NSMB from Wiisos NTSC (776mb)
Worked via NeoGamma latest version.
And I don't remember installing any cIOS

Step 0:

If you start your Wii with the NSMB backup inside it, it will give you an error that tells you to shut down your console and remove the disc.

Step 1:

Download the NeoGamma

Step 2:

Extract the NeoGamma folder to the App folder of you SD card.

Step 3:

Start NeoGamma from your SD

Step 4:

When the window opens, insert the backup and then tell NeoGamma to load it.

Step 5:

Have fun.

EDIT: Oh, the NeoGamma tells me i got the cIOS rev4.

(Still can't make it work on Disc Channel, any tips for me gokuguy?)

Same exact process here. As far as I can tell, neogamma tells you YOUR IOS verison in the bottom right of the normal screen after you press a button to get past that first screen. I have rev 4 and it says IOS249 on mine, which is a custom pirate IOS, which makes sense because that's what I put on it a while ago.

The confusion came in when the game would make me restart my wii even though I'm pretty sure I'm trucha bugged with IOS249. Maybe neogamma uses it's own IOS somehow, is this possible? Oh well, I'm still confused but at least it works through neogamma.

Anyone know why the patched NTSC makes us restart our wii due to an error through the normal wii menu, but works through neogamma?

Xeon: do you remember installing things to be able to instlal wiiware games or the homebrew channel in the firs tpalce? that would be changing your IOS to a custom IOS (cIOS). If not, then maybe neogamma does somehow use its own IOS.

Details:
Heres a strange one for you, i have my Hacked wii 4.1 running Cios rev 14 and the latest configurable USB loader and neogamma R7. I just switched over to USB to play the New Super Mario Bros.
(rev15 broke all my working game so i went back for now)

I have my neighbors wii i just updated for him (3.2 Twilight hack, upgraded to 4.1 w/ waninko (sorry about the spelling), installed rev 14, neogamma R7)

we should be the same now. (same HBC, Boot Mii as boot 2, truncha bug restore, everything i can think of)

So im giving him all my burned Games since im using USB now. But heres the weird part....

Skip to the problem first if you want:
When i plug my USB into this other wii and use my SD and play the New super mario bros, its zoomed in on his wii. Like i can't see the bottom of the screen where it says "press 2!"

NM solution,

The only difference was his Wii was set to 480i since he uses the composite cables. Since it was on my TV and i used the compononet ones mine is set to 480p and it worked.
Every other game, dvd-r or USB worked on either wii regardless of this difference (PAL or NTSC too) So i posted this anyway just so it was out there. Anyone know why this game is diff?

I remember installing something to install wads on 3.4U.

I'll try to remove the IOS249, the cIOS39 rev14, and then reinstalling it all.

I don't know about the "restart wii" problem.

Do you remember anything?

wii 4.2u
rev 15
cIOSCORP 3.5

and i can't get neogamma to run this game no matter what version i run.

If i try neogamma it just goes to error 001 and if i use uloader it only runs for 10 minutes and crashes

cIOSrev15 does not work with neogamma, and you will need to use the patched/fixed ISO for it not to freeze after 10 mins with uloader.

Ok.. I'm frustrated but hoping someone can help.

I have a Wiikey v1 installed, and my NTSC SMB (supposedly wiiscrubbed) updated to 4.2U. The game loads, I can play a few levels, then boom, disc read error. I have never done homebrew and I don't really have a desire for it.

What can I do to play this without the errors?

You need the patched disc or hex edit the main.dol yourself. A Trucha/Sig Hash patched IOS53 and IOS70.
The Homebrew Channel and DopIOS MOD should get the patched IOS's going for ya.

Here is how I got this game running in three steps. softmod only. ntsc in my case.

1) patched and scrubbed nsmb is required. get it.
2) cios rev 15 installed. simply get the .dol file and rename it boot.dol and install it through homebrew channel. create a directory in your apps on the SD card, name it whatever you want, and drop the boot.dol file in there and install ios249 with it via network. this will all be clear to you when you run the .dol from homebrew. (this is how i install a cios, and figured i would elaborate because many ask)
3) get uloader 3.1 (must be 3.1) and load it through homebrew channel. make sure you have your nsmb disc in and then press 2 to load from a disc.
4) save the princess

my scrubed non patched copy is working with neogamma´s latest version, I didn´t do anything else (only updating Homebrew Channel), but on disc channel it says I need to install an update.

Which update does this game have?

I was going to install lates cIOS but now I don´t know if I should.

For those of you with a Flatmii like me, I e-mailed the guys who made it and they told me to redownload this file: www.flatmii.com/flatmii125.rar

Clear your cache before you download it just in case, you should have a file called flatmii1.5.exe, with thsi i was able to play the game through the disc channel (unmodified iso)

Patched Game + Cios rev 15 + uloader 3.1 = WORKING GAME

Thats it no more complaining. PLease update the first post and the compatability wiki.

I know rev 15 wrecks Neogamma but uloader runs all my games fine.

I managed to get the game to work for me (patched ISO; USB loader GX;Fix 002 ON), but can only get 1 wiimote to connect at once. Both wiimotes work, but only one can be connected at a time. I've proved this by turning one remote off and connecting the other. Going into the home menu and using the 1+2 button connection doesn't fix the problem, the second remote connects and makes a sound, but immediatley disconnects. Both remotes are at about 75% battery power and work flawlessly with other functions of the wii.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong, or what I need to do?

confirming this problem about having only 1 wiimote able to sync. 2nd wiimote gets disconnected after a while. CFG Loader, IOS222, Soft-modded Wii. Using an unpatched but Scrubbed downloaded copy (300+ MB). Might try the scene release 1:1 copy to see if it's just the ISO i have.

Fixed my issue. As part of the actual game itself, only one remote can possibly connect unless multiplayer is selected, then as many remotes can connect as specified by your game mode... what a silly feature on Nintendo's behalf; if it confused me, what are the chances of it confusing a casual gamer?...

don't forget about using alt .dol (if you don't want to burn another disc)
