could be incompatible drive...

try formatting it via windows (maybe make it fat 32), then try formatting again via wbfs manager...

good luck

(also make sure u r using the right version of wbfs manager for ur pc, there is a 32 bit and a 64 bit version)

Well I tried, using USB Loader GX. It pops up with the message, "No WBFS partition found. You need to format a partition." I click on "Format" and then it brings me to

Now, just before I hooked it up to my Wii, I had formatted the entire drive as an NTFS. I don't understand why it thinks that I have 4 partitions.

because you need to use windows disk manager (right click my computer then manage)erase then assign a drive letter.. there's actually a tutroial if you look hard enough.. after you've assigned a letter then format with wbfs manager.Or format with the wii using usbloader.

Yeah, that's what I've been using this whole time. I just did a full format, as FAT32, and when I plug in my HDD and start up USB Loader GX, it doesn't give me the option to format. It just jumps right into the menu. It still is recognizing my .20GB partition that I was able to format as WBFS under the program last time I started it. Any ideas?

Alright, so another little update. I used a LiveCD I had to completely wipe down my external drive and for some reason, it was now able to be recognized as the full 18GB. So I formatted it as the WBFS and I'm actually able to use WBFS manager now. So I copied over 1 PAL game and 1NTSC game. Both give the following:
