Many thanks to curley for his infinite wisdom, but i'm still having problems. I posted this earlier (silly me, wrong place) and it still isn't working correctly... If anyone can help me, i would be greatly appreciated.

still new to this thing, bear with me, i'll get better:

My OP:

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=154...p;#entry1975546

i don't know if i have to add new codes for the games that aren't showing up or just change the game id to match the ones that aren't working.

Please post replies here, as my original post is apparently in the wrong section. Any help would be greatly appreciated, i've tried everything I can think of...

try remove the games that you don't play!
as much as possible
tongue.gif

r4 can only display 800 games
tongue.gif

we have 1300 games in the database!

i would recommend you maintain your own database or switch to yasumenu

thanks, that worked... mostly.

I deleted all the japanese games (except the yugi-oh one) and most of them are working now, i've just lost soma bringer, neves (don't think it has codes anyway) and fire emblem - shadow dragon (which was working before I did this...) By "manage your own database", do you mean I can just cut / paste the games from one database to another and then just save that as cheat.dat... I tried Yasmenu and i couldn't get it to work... I found the tut on the site, but no go... I tried cut/paste on the games and it failed completely. I'll go back and delete the games i'll never play (such as imagine:horses and things like that... maybe that'll give me fire emblem back.

thanks to everyone, everything seems to be working much better now.

YES i will give you an example

launch 2 r4cce
one is a new .dat
one is gbatemp .dat

go to the game you want to copy on gbatemp's database
COPY
then go to your new database
PASTE

if you are using usrcheat.dat
make sure cheat enable is ticked, game enable: on

if you are using cheat.dat
just make sure cheat enable is ticked, encrypted is ticked and game enable:on

Because the "A Basic Guide on How to Create AR codes" thread is closed, I'll try to ask here:

I have no problems to create a cheat out of countable argumens. But is it also possible to create/search for codes if you can't count the item?

For example - A Ressha de Ikou / A-Train.

In the research-menu you have the yellow bar where certain dots are filled/not filled.
If you research a train or bus you need this "points" for better and faster ones.

I tried to search for a code by counting the filled dots and the not filled dots, but I didn't get a working code.

Does anyone have a hint how to create a working code here?

Hi,
I've got an r4 with action replay cheat file on it.
the cheats work with all games except the ones that are patched
like dragon quest heavenly bride or gta.

How do you get the cheats to work for a patched rom like these.

I can't get my cheats for Pokémon Heart Gold (patched) to work, because the CHEAT (Y) option won't show up. And yes, like Elixerdream said, I did put in the right Game ID that I found with the Cheat Code Editor.

I've tried making a new usrcheat.dat, but it still won't show up.

Anyone got an idea?

did you TICK on CHEAT ENABLE
and
go to item - all game on/off - on

Yep. I'm using an M3 Simply, if it makes any difference. I've googled this issue but no-one really has the solution, I think?

I don't think that's it. I also tried making a new USRCHEAT.dat file, only put Heart Gold in it (with the right GAME ID), and it still wouldn't show up.

won't it be easier
you modify with the one from gbatemp...
delete all those useless game.. change the ID (if it is different)

then make sure cheat and game is enabled on your r4 (if they have that)

I am trying to run r4cce, but I get this error and it goes to the Chinese interface:

Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm on Windows 7, if that matters.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
