Does an Unlimited data plan, actually give you unlimited data or are they just saying that, because the whole idea of being able to download forever seems a bit far fetched to me.

Depends really, you have to check the small print. Sometimes they advertise a plan as unlimited but like to stick a fair usage policy in the small print.

Oh k thx, I'm guessing when they actually let you use the internet like mad is when everyone is at school or work or something.

I know off peak is from around 2:30 am to 8:00 am. This is with TPG but I know iinet go from 12am to 12pm as off peak. It all depends upon your service provider. I can almost guarentee that you will not need alot of downloads. I recently upgraded to 80GB and found that almost half a month in, I have barely made a dent due to the lack of games, movies and such I want.

In this case (you being Australian, that is) I believe you will have a certain amount of bandwith and, once used, your speed will be capped.

As it has been said, unlimited does not, oddly enough, mean unlimited. Most ISPs will just cap your download speed or put limits on it between certain hours if you do too much downloading. Damn fair usage policy >_>

So, I'm going to be a d!ck here. Call your provider. I called mine and they told me (to verify look at ur contract, or the contract on line based off ur policy), additionally they informed me it was unlimited due to my phone being a smartphone.

Just call, they'll help you it's a free call.

It's still not unlimited. People have had their accounts canceled for heavy usage even with "unlimited" smartphone plans that mentioned nothing about the 5GB limit.

And I do mean heavy, 3GB a day (well, heavy for a phone)

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
