None of those on the first page worked so does that mean I have to keep trying the ones in the "other" section until it works?
They all freeze?
Nope they just do nothing. It just shows the number of blocks on my sd. Im using the hackmii installer v0.6 is that right?
Where do you go then? :wtf:

Settings > Data management > Channels > SD Card
is where you have to go
Yup that's what I do.

I download the bannerbomb and drag the private folder to my sd card and then drag the boot.elf from hackmii installer 0.6 and then nothing happens it just shows how many blocks I have on my sd.

You renamed the hackmii installer.elf to boot.elf and put it in the SD root, right?
Just so thats not the problem

Oh, ok then...

This is pretty strange...

Actually the best advise would be to update but there must be another way... I think

can someone explain to me why my wiiware/vc wont load off the sd card? it gives me some unable to launch error msg, i recently updated wii to 4.2 using the 4.2safe installer, and i downgraded and patched the ios60(info i found i should do using search function) using dop-ios but all except one of my wiiware titles dont work now, the only one that works from sd card is family table tennis for some reason, which i do not have installed onto wii memory, world of goo and defend your castle also work off sd but that could just be cause i have them installed on wii memory as well, so wtf is the problem here?
You have to patch IOS70 on 4.2
not IOS60
well what do you know, its as simple as that, i shouldve been able to figure that out, thx very much anyway

Haha yeah it is odd.

If I updated to 4.2 would I still be able to softmod it?

Thanks for the help btw

Yeah, you can softmod it with this guide: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901
(And with my guide that isn't out yet

Yup
It uses the new bannerbomb (that is loaded from SD card menu) so perhaps that one works

Well im off to try it now so fingers crossed

Edit: I was having the same problem as before it wouldn't load so I clicked "sd" on the main wii page and it installed

Quick question, how do I make a custom channel by using a .dol or .elf? I'll be making a WiiXplorer Channel that is up to date very often. Any who, how?

Hey tj_c!

Can you tell me if there is anything special about StartPatch 4.2u?
Is this something not needed when using xzxero's guide or the one you are working on...

My main concern is I want to have my wii brick proof or atleast safeguarded, plus any backups that could possibly return me to virgin state before I go ahead with this... is there any tips you could give me or are all these things covered in xzxero's guide?

Hi- I had previously posted this as it's own topic, but it never got a response (for good reason, I'm sure!). I've got a very odd problem that just came up last night as I was pulling my Wii Component Cable out of receiver. I heard a a quick pop and then my receiver shut down. When I turned it back on, the video on my Wii was missing the color red. I've troubleshooted it and determined some circuit has blown in the Wii. I have replaced the component cable and put it into different component ports in my receiver. The ports work fine with other equipment and a replacement cable has no effect. What's really interesting is that when I switch to the old composite cables, the colors are actually fine. There must be some ciruit specific to the red component jack that is shot inside the system, which is rather interesting.

At any rate, I'm thinking of pushing this system onto my in-laws, who have a working Wii, but rarely use it and only use it in standard definition. I would then take their system and start from scratch, but with HD that actually functions.

First question- Anyone ever heard of this problem and know of a solution. Google is failing me obvsiously.

Second question- How can I reset my softmodded Wii so it looks factory clean before I make the swap? I'm just concerned I'll give them the system as is and it will try to update itself at some point in the future and brick. This would not be good for me on many levels. I have searched for other posts on this and most people are just trying to fix software problems they have and are typically talked through fixing them without doing an actual reset. I really want this thing to look like it's out of the box. I have my NAND and keys file from when I softmodded if a restore is required via BootMii, but that doesn't remove the Homebrew Channel or any of the hacked IOS's or other files that Nintendo can detect as modifications, correct?

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance!

use wadder, though i do not know the latest now. btw there are already available forwarder channel for the wiixplorer. i suggest you use it so that you do not have to update everytime the .dol of your wiixplorer channel .wad

should work ok have used this app on my 3.2e but didn't update IOS60
you could also download the latest IOS61 and the new shop channel with NUSD pack into wads and install them with wad manager

i used to use cios dvd dumper to tranfer my backups over wifi to my desktop. i never tried raw dump. but with dvd dumper you can choose to transfer to sd usb or over network. if you choose over network it will give you your wii's ip address you go to your pc type in the addres then hit down load. 3-5 hours later you will be done

by the way i use super dump and 8GB sandisk now, backups in under 1 hour.
