I had a Wii on SysMenu 2.2.

I installed cIOS Rev 14, then did IOS Downgrade, cIOS Downgrade (3.2U FW), then Waninkoko's 4.0 FW Update, then his 4.1 FW Update, then IOS 60 Patch, then WiiSCU, then StartPatch 4.1, and then cIOS USB 2.0.

Everything was working fine. I then ran Waninkoko's Duplicate Channel Remover for cleanup purposes only. It said to push reset to start and I did. It then said the Wii would reboot in 1 seconds and it froze.

When I hard powered down the Wii and turned it back on nothing shows up on the screen.

What can I do?

If you don't have preloader then there is nothing you can do.

If you used WiiSCU then you probably installed a stub IOS60 ;_; (Which doesn't work as a system menu.)

EDIT: If you knew about bootmii, Why didn't you install it?

I don't have preloader on there.

I did use WiiSCU but only to update the Shop Channel.

I didn't put BootMii on there because it was my SD card and I was going to put BootMii once I obtained another sd card just for this specific Wii.

I know. I apparently bricked the Wii entirely. How could Dupe Chan Remover do this? Or was it WiiSCU doing something behind the scenes even though I specifically told it to ONLY update Shop Chan?

Hi, it looks like IOS60 Installer is downloading from NINTENDO the STUB IOS, this is causing all the problems....look mine in the other Topic

I didn't install bootmii because it was my sd card from my wii and I didn't want the bootmii install to overwrite my backup on the card.

I did see 2 entries for a couple different channels when I was using AnyTitle Deleter MOD to see which IOSes were installed. So then I ran the Dupe Chan Remover and it froze on the countdown to rebooting the Wii.

It all worked nicely until that program froze.

Am I screwed?

Yeah seems as you are screwed but dunno why the duplicate channel remover should brick a Wii since it only deletes duplicate weather, news channels as far as i know. A way to fix it would be (if a Mod chip is installed) to use freesavemii or just buy savemii and use a game with a newer update but if you are on 4.1 this will not work or i think there are some self made discs floating around that can run wad manager from a dvd.

You should be really installed bootmii and make a backup before that happend

I thought you didn't need a hard mod to use savemii? Just a gc controller?

I was considering this but there are no games w/ 4.2 update on it yet that I know of.

These "self-made discs" that can run wad manager.... would this be possible? With a 4.2 sysmenu wad on it? But I would need a hard mod for that to work correct?

The IOS60 patcher bricked it. The tool no longer works, since it downloads the "latest" IOS60, v6400 which is now a stub. I've seen quite a few of these bricks around here post-4.2...

WiiSCU would have done the same thing as the IOS60 patcher - brick.

You should have installed bootmii even if you didn't plan on keeping the card with the wii. You could have always moved its files to another card.

Ah crap. So that's the true culprit huh? Damn...

So is there anything I can do? There's other threads on here with all types of suggestions and mine is getting hardly any attention.

From what I keep reading, if I can somehow get to a recovery menu I can possibly do a repair? I had StartPatch 4.1 installed with all hacks minus the RegionFree ones. Would that allow me to get to a recovery menu using a GC Pad?

I used the latest NUSD to download SysMenu 4.2 into a wad "RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v481.wad" is it possible to do that custom ISO that runs Wad Manager on it and put the 4.2 wad on a blank sd card in hopes of installing a new system menu? The Wii was soft-modded however so I would need to hard-mod it to boot a burnt disc yes?

Any options / suggestions would be appreciated guys. Thanks.

And for the millionth time I know I screwed up with not installing bootmii :-(

Btw, now that I think of it, how did the IOS60 Patcher brick it when I ran the patcher, and then the Wii still worked? I was able to get out of HBC and back to the Wii SysMenu, and check to see that I was, in fact, running 4.1U properly.

Yes, if you downloaded the LATEST IOS60 from Nintendo, you are bricked with a IOS60 Stub.

If you have all the starpatches enabled (except the region free ones) there should be one for the game cube controller

"For autoboot game, install Recovery menu press Y NGC-PAD 1rt port and Remove diag disc check"

I hope that helps I just installed it 10 minutes ago.
