Thanks zektor!
Another Wii sucessfully update to system menu 4.2U!

I've read every single post of this the thread (some of them even twice!), but haven't experienced any problems.

So, thanks again!

If you are already at 4.2 there is no need to run this stuff. Never downgrade anything, it's just too dangerous and totally unnecessary.

Update bootmii to beta4 (the latest version). While it won't fix the already "corrupted" backups, the new ones made will be fine.

Thanks - but doesn't 4.2 stop you from running Hackmii installer ?

It did, for about a day. You can run it on a virgin system using the new Bannerbomb, or just run it from the HBC if you installed the latest version before updating or used the Safe Firmware Updater. See here for full instructions, whatever your situation.

Ah ok - I'll try again but when I tried to run the installer last night it came up with the "can not find an ios to run on" type error ?

Worked perfectly, thank you!
After the install i've "doped" IOS70, just to have a thruca bugged ios, and everything is ok.

It's Waninkoko's Updater or cIOSCORP that will do that to you, not 4.2. That warning typically means that almost every one of your IOSes is patched somehow.

Aha that makes sense - it was the Wanin version I used to get up to 4.2.

I will use this version instead

Sorry for the stupid question, but how would i go about applying the trucha bug to IOS70 so i can run VC games from the sd card. Looked through a few guides and such but a bit lost as to wether i should use trucha bug restorer or DOP-IOS or what.
Is there a guide someone could point me to
Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Sorry peeps worked it out for myself

luckily for me the file you request in this post :-

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901

includes a wad that is already patched so only had to install it.
If not i was about to use trucha restorer to patch to downgrade IOS15, then restart and patch IOS36 with trucha bug, then restart and finally restaroe IOS15

Wit hte newly patched ios 36 i would have used DOPIOS to use the patched 36 and apply it to IOS70

Though i am a noobie at this and guessing someone is going to tell me im doing somethig wrong here

Could you please describe your solution for others?

Just use Dop-IOS MOD (I prefer this version myself) to patch ISO70 and say yes to the bugging options, you could probably use IOS36 (With Trucha Bug) but I prefer to just use a cIOS.

Okay, I tried it again but got the same error on IOS 9 it's about to install it but when it installs 2, it says
ES-AddContentStart(0000000100000009, 0) failed: -107
Mind you I have cIOSCORP installed, should I uninstall it? Or continue with the installation?

Possible stupid question regarding the first post...is this updater safe to run if we've changed our shop region to Japanese and everything else is USA? I did that for MH3, and I think I'll lose my japanese funnymoney if I change my region back for this update.

I don't know enough about shop region changing to tell you if this will work or not. I strongly suggest you return everything to the local region of your Wii and leave it that way afterwards if you want to update. Make a backup with BootMii as boot2 as well.
