Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love is set for a 4 January 2010 winter release. I don't know anything about the series, but a good friend of mine tells me that I'll like it, so I'll put a vote in for it.

To me Mario Galaxy 2 lacks the imagination of most Mario sequels, its the first "straight up" Mario sequel (in the proper series) since the Japanese version of SMB2. Even Mario Sunshine had SOMETHING to seperate it from Mario 64, albeit just a gimick. Mario Galaxy 2..looks the same game even down to the levels only this time you can use Yoshi.
@Thordrian: I'm not saying Cave Story and La Mulana aren't worth the money (the existence of free versions aside), but there's still no reason to bash ANYTHING for being "more of the same" unless it was bad from the beginning.

SMG sold like hotcakes and, instead of trying something new and different, they'll just make a sequel to it. Seeing as a lot of Nintendo franchises are slowly phasing out (Star Fox is a large example, since it lacks any form of "casual crowd" appeal), with the only "hardcore" franchise from Nintendo still going strong is Metroid, I just think it's quite sad.
Also, I'll give +1 to Animales de la Muerte. It's a relatively unknown "Smash TV"-esque shooter by High Voltage (dudes making The Grinder and who made The Conduit). There's some trailers on Youtube if you're interested. It was gonna be a WiiWare game, but couldn't fit the size standards.
