I was tempted to offer my services for translating, but with my sucky knowledge of kata, I'd be too slow to be of any help =(
I hate reading Japanese, hira and kata aren't so bad I suppose, but it doesn't seem worth learning them properly without intending to learn kanji.
And I have no idea how to learn kanji.

Well I pretty much just know how to read katakana, hiragana and am oretty good at figuring out the meaning of Japanese sentences. Heck, for most of the words and stuff I use a dictionary + google to figure out what they mean. So with a dictionary I'm pretty good at translating, but if a person actually spoke Japanese, I would understand a LITTLE, but not a lot.MizuhoChan said:

Also remember that if the piece of text is the same as in HGSS as it was the original Japanese GSC, it gets translated the same way most of the time, unless it needs to be changed to fit a new context.
I've also studied Japanese grammar and Japanese verbs for a while too.
Wish I knew how to read Japanese. Is it easy to learn? I only know English, unfortunately. But there's so many good kinds of Japanese media out there that it would be a fun project to actually figure out how to understand it

Simply put, no. I studied Japanese grammar for a couple years before doing this. Basically, I learned to read Katakana and Hiragana(Literally memorizing how each symbol is pronounced).
