I ran it direct through HBC in case the channel was the problem, I let it download for over 30 mins, it then crashed and it had loaded about 6 covers, did it again same thing happened. it is not my internet connection as straight after I downloaded all covers through Config USB loader with no problems.

Came back from working away, nothing changed in settings, downloaded all covers (took a while) all working ok now. go figure!

only thing I can think of is site traffic from cover site.

I can't get this to work with GH5. I am using IOS223 and the 002 error fix in configurable USBLoader and it loads fine. Try those same settings in here and it does not work. I've tried numerous combinations of settings and can't get it to load. either get the 002 error or a black screen when I try to load the game.

I had the same problem, used 222 instead of 223 and game works great (but didnt try with USB instruments as I have GH instruments). Same with Beatles game

I've tried that as well, anyone have any other advice, or can they post what worked for them with this loader and GH5?

Thanks Hibern. I have put in about 3 hours of rigid testing, and can now produce desired bugs at will. I have boiled it down to the wiiflow.ini file, and how it handles loading covers using the "data_on_usb=no" command. On my drive where a FAT32 partition exists, I place a wiiflow.ini that I created with notepad, with the data_on_usb=no command. The covers download to my SD fine, and show in the loader with no problem. Wii Sports Resort (problematic game/002 fix) launches fine, as do the other 17 games on this drive. Then I power off my Wii.

From here, I plug in my fully partitioned drive containing 236 games, and try to launch Wii Sports Resort (which just worked on my 2 partition drive), but it freezes at black screen, wiimote disconnects, and I have to hard-reset the Wii. Now that I've had this failure, I power down my Wii completely.

Then I plug in the first drive that worked (2 partitions) and Wii Sports Resort (which just worked on this drive) now won't load. I can only guess that something is being written to the wiiflow.ini when I plug in the other drive, and then causes some error to be written to my settings, which is why the drive worked just moments ago, now won't load any of the 18 games on it.

For the heck of it, I deleted my wiiflow.ini altogether, and decided I would only use my fully partitioned WBFS drive with covers on my SD. Since there is no FAT32 partition on it, I don't need to manually edit the wiiflow.ini, and can let the loader create it naturally. Wii Sports Resort loads fine, but when I reset/shut down, and try to load a second game, but no games will load from here on out. I'm using cIOS_rev14 on a 4.1U Wii, so this isn't an error with my softmodding, as other loaders don't produce these results. I hope this info was helpful in resolving this issue, and I've read a couple others with the same problem, so I do believe it's not my error. Feel free to contact me if you need any more input or testing.

i get the same bug except like kiing, i'm using a one-partition 320gb drive. tried wiiflow test4 and the bug doesn't appear. will test wiiflow.ini content before and after launching games...

the forwarders in the pack should work aswel as Benjay's new forwarder a few posts back. do you have the folder "Wiiflow" on the SD card with the boot.dol inside it? should be SD://apps/wiiflow/boo.dol if not thats your problem as the channel has the .dol inside it and the forwarder looks for the boot.dol in the suggested folder of the SD card

After testing exactly 90 games in the last 2,5 days (32 direct backups on my hdd and 58 games from a friends hdd): ALL RUNNING - NO ERRORS*
yay.gif

Enivronment: Wii 4.1 E, cIOS REV 14, WiiFlow 1.0 (final) via Starnight-Forwarder

* I might add that we could not test most of the games for longer than 5-10 minutes, just tested the main game for some minutes (so not just the title/intro). Only issue we saw with CSI: Hard Evidence restarting the Wii after completing a mission after regulary auto-save. All other intensive tests completed fine.

Cheers

Sorry, I realy don't know where to ask, so I'll try it here. I started on a Theme, it's nearly ready, but I simply don't get every option in the theme.ini. For Example:

effect_x=0
effect_y=0
buttons_x=0
buttons_y=380
next_h=100
next_w=100
next_x=530
next_y=280
etc... there are also other lines I don't realy get...Is there anywhere a new, Up-to-Date documentation about this, about all functions in the .ini? Thanks in Advance!!!

@Hibern: Nice work, realy, realy nice work. This won't be my main loader, but for shure I'll use it from time to time.

Hi, I can't get the channel to work.
I've installed the Wiiflow IOS249-WFHW.wad thrue wad manager so now I have the channel.
I have a fat32 partition on mu HD that I've copied the folder wiiflow onto ( this doesn't contain wiiflow.ini, just themes, language.ini and titles.ini)
Now when I start wiiflow it stays stuck on please wait...

Does anyone have a solution?

Thx in advance!

Copy the apps, wad and wiiflow folders to the root of your FAT32 partition .

Copied all the files onto my HD, but it still freezes on 'Please wait...'
As a general rule, you should probably avoid taking the advice of someone with only 1 or 2 posts under their belt.

If you installed the full channel and not simply the forwarder, you don't need the apps folder copied to your HD, nor the WAD folder.

An update to my previously posted problem.. I'm completely stumped.

Even if I delete all the game config options from the wiiflow.ini, and try to load it up, it still fails to load any game unless I completely remove the wiiflow.ini and start new. Even so, only the first game loaded after creating the wiiflow.ini will actually load while every other game continues to fail while black screening after the Please Wait screen prior to launching a game. I've even tried a completely new install of WiiFlow using multiple sources of the files (thinking maybe one of the mirrors is corrupted.) I've also tried completely new installs of directly loading from SD and keeping default options of USB. Anyone with a suggestion of something I can try?

-TIA

Unfortunately it won't solve the problem. Kiing's problem is identical to mine, and even with cIOS_rev14 installed, the second game won't load (you're thinking about the well known bug in cIOSrev_13a, in which your advice will work).

I'm under the impression that the loader is misenterpreting the info written to the wiiflow.ini, or the info is not being written correctly. Hibern has aknowledged this bug, as he stated on the WiiFlow home site, and is hoping to work on it in the next week or two. Hibern also suggested that changing the options for the individual game (disregarding the global default settings) could help get games to launch for now. When the bugs are worked out, this will be my number one loader for playing games. I'm really curious why my Wii is vulnerable to these bugs, while most users are experiencing success.

So don't worry Kiing, we're in the same boat, and we'll just have to be patient while this gets worked out.

Ok. Here's an update.

I already have cIOS38rev14 installed. The complete power cycling of the Wii would not fix my problem. I would actually have to power cycle the Wii each time I attempted (failed attempts) to load a game since it would crash. Even on my attempts to pray and hope it would load the next time, the problem still continued.

So, I just did a total reformat of my SD (it was cluttered anyways) and reinstalled my cIOS38rev14 to 249.. and then.. sex. It worked. I've just loaded a few dozen games with success, stopped and posted.. since it would take a day to load them all. I even tested further and set global conditions, and it continues to work. Loading data from USB is working, too. Not sure what or why reinstalling to 249 would do since it was obviously installed already, but it happily works.

So.. this minus every other loader (like.. 4) on my system = one happy homebrew guy. Thanks for the tidbit on 249, guys! Now to make a theme I can stand to look at for ages to come..

+1 Hibern

A solution to the black screen bug:

About the black screen bug:
Many times when you try to boot some game it will lead to a black screen.
It seems to be related to the titles.ini file; at least that's the conclusion I've arrived after several tests.

Solution:
Just delete the titles.ini file both from the SD:/wiiflow and USB:/wiiflow folders, and don't download game titles again until a bugfix is released.
