Alright, my Wii Speak was working just fine for City Folk for when I used it. I just got The Conduit today and decided to try it out. When I tried it, it said it couldn't detect it so I said "That's strange..." so I went back to my Wii Menu, clicked "Wii Speak Channel" and I got an error message that said the system file(s) for it are corrupted and that I would have to delete the channel and redownload it from the Wii Shop Channel.

So I go ahead and go to the Wii Shop Channel, having previously months earlier installed IOS51 and the Shop Channel update (I am on 3.3U the one before the October 23rd update) and when I go to it, the ring shows up for connecting and all but, only moves for a second and then the thing freezes. So I decided to look up what the problem might be and it was IOS61 and Shop Channel update from 4.0 that I needed to install (that being here: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wii_Shop_and_IOS61_installer)

So I go ahead and download that, put it onto my HBC, IOS61 was installed successfully but, the Shop Channel while downloaded successfully, it freezes at installing the title around about.... the number 8. So... in other words, I can't install the new Shop Channel (I have tried twice btw).

So, is there any way I can rectify my Wii Speak by either downloading a new .wad of it or am I stuck with a Wii Speak that won't work now unless I update to 4.0 through everyone else's method? (Which I REALLY would rather not want to do).

Edit: Let me also say that I have installed cIOS36 rev10 if that means anything. I haven't updated to the newest one(s) because I heard there's something wrong with them?

I'm not sure, but wouldn't you have to install cios 60 too? Because from what I've heard so far, Wii shop channel won't work without cIOS 60. I thought it would ask for the update, if cIOS 60 wasn't found, but maybe that is what causes the freezes.

Also wii speak won't work with rev10 regardless. Get at least rev12 and use the inside usb port for wii speak. As for the shop channel...have you tried using WiiSCU?

I am trying WiiSCU right now and I installed the IOSes with it just fine but, when I try to do Wii Shop, it downloads completely (all 18 parts) but then when it comes to installing it to the title(s) it goes up to 8 and then stops, freezes, halts and I'm forced to shut off my Wii.

Any idea what's wrong? =\

Also, will rev12 mess anything up with my current set up for USB Loader? Just asking.

Edit: Just installed cIOS38 rev12 and it made my drive incompatible... =\

Guess I'll just forget Wii Speak then.

I have 897 blocks open on the system memory. I run most of my WiiWare from the SD card so this shouldn't be an issue.

I reinstalled IOS 61 successfully, which was downloaded from NUS downloader, but it didn't solve the issue

If i try to reinstall the shop channel by wad, it get stuck/frozen on title #58.

I also tried using Waninkoko's Firmware Upgrader 4.1 just in case something was wrong with my current 4.1 firmware, but after the discalimer when i hit the A button, it just gives me the message "Press any button to restart Wii..." without any error code.

Hmm...have you tried updating officially with Nintendo (assuming you're on 4.1)? If you're worried about losing IOS versions with trucha signing, it should be easy enough (assuming you've got a cIOS) to get those back on there.

I downgraded to 3.2 and then used the nintendo update to hop back to 4.1, but unfortunately the Wii Shop channel still freezes.

I wanted to try reinstalling the shop channel, but no matter what installer i use, it freezes mid-way through installation.

I've also noticed that whenever i try to run an installer for the shop channel or firmware downgrade/upgrade, when it asks if i want to change the region for the shop channel and i accept, it then tells me its unable to determine the region of the channel (I don't actually want to change the channel region, but was curious as to if it would present any error messages).

What would happen if i were to try to delete the Shop Channel via AnyTitleDeleter, and then update the wii through nintendo again, would it reinstall this way, or would i have to reinstall via homebrew installer?

alright, well that doesn't seem to keep the shop channel from freezing either.
