Hacking Metroid Prime Trilogy

I'm pretty sure mine isn't on veteran difficulty, I started the game with no alt dols and created a save profile etc, selected metroid prime 1 on Normal from the menu then when it restarted the Wii, I used alt dol for mp1.

Seems quite easy to me, completed the ship intro section and m health barely dipped under 80 the whole time.

Is anyone else finding the game volume very quiet?

That sounds like veteran. Veteran is the original game's normal difficulty (with normal being the original easy difficulty).

Edit: wait... the original didn't have an easy difficulty. But from most accounts, veteran is still the original normal with the new normal being equivalent to an easy mode.

Loads perfectly for me using GX rev709, only it's in 480i, and set to Veteran difficulty. My Wii is 4.1U, cIOS_rev14, and my version of Metroid Prime Trilogy is 7.91gb (ISO). Only MP3 gives me the error screen, telling me to consult the manual, or call Nintendo, etc.

screw it i switched back to the disc. this is 1 time you don't want to play through a loader until it's possible to play it without alt dol BS

First of all; hello everyone!

I downloaded the 1UP rls, and man, I'm having a hell of a time here.

Tried every possible option combination. With CIOS R10 and R14. My Wii SystemMenu is 3.2. Europe.

I don't care about MP3, since I have Corruption installed to. I won't even bother with the trilogy Corruption.

My problem is... I can only play in NTSC. My TV will show everything in black & white like that. Using the Composite RCA Cable. I am a Pal user, you should've noticed

I also tried the original MP1 for Wii (the japanese one) with a Patch. No workie except with greyscales (and NTSC.)

PAL 480i in Neogamma doesn't work either. I also tried GX and CFG Loader.

If I try in PAL on any loader, if I go through the menu it will give the famous "Half Green Screen" and just die instantly when loading one of the games. I figured nobody would have it work like that. So with alt DOL of course it just stays black, going back to the System Menu after a while. NTSC works FINE. But it's greyscaled...

Right now I am trying to forge a workaround together. By inputting the Wii signal into my TV Card, then using TV Out to put a PAL signal back. I wonder how good it will look.

Hey can anyone that has Metroid Prime Trilogy working on USB Loader GX share their GXGameSettings.cfg file located under the "config" folder under the root of your SD card? Although I did get it working on Configurable USB Loader through using WiiScrubber and renaming the .dol, I've tried EVERYTHING (and I mean EVERYTHING) on USB Loader GX and I get nothin'. Please just reply with a code box with your contents of that file.

Could people using Configurable USB Loader post their set-up? All I get is a black screen.

I'm also not sure how to use alt-dols, I have the ones that came with the Wiisos download, which came with:

main.dol
rs5fe_p.dol
rsmp1_p.dol
rsmp2_p.dol
and rsmp3_p.dol

I know I'm supposed to rename the one I need to R3ME.dol, with rsmp1_p.dol being for Prime, rsmp2_p.dol being for Prime 2, and so on. But I still get a black screen.

Some aid, please?

It worked for me with usb loader gx rev657 ,cios rev 10 and with the alt dols that you have to rename to R3ME01.dol but the only thing that not works is the multiplayer of mp2 and for mp3 you have to put a disc on your wii.

You've got the wrong technique. You don't need to do anything to the game, burn any any discs nor install anything else. My tutorial has the method you need.

so does 3 work with a disc in the Wii then? I tested 1 and played some.. it was fine without a disc, but my Wii is gone at the moment so I can't test 2 and 3.

1 and 2 work fine but 3 asks for the disk to be inserted, simply put any disk in to get passed the error

Would there happen to be any such technique I could use though in order to run these through the HBC or in an injected forwarder channel or anything of the sort? I've extracted these DOLs myself, and out of a stupid attempt tried running one with no luck, obviously

I'd be overjoyed to find a method that can run these via HBC or the main menu, but I'm sure there's other priorities.

Aw well, if there's nothing, I have Neogamma or the original disc if need be.
