a wad manger map is just a map like other mapps in apps it's for organizing your files

ans installed cios 249 rev 14

and i also couldn't install bootmii as an ios he couldn't create anything on the sd card

when he tried to create the map /bootmii it said

failed error (-2)
DVD+R will not work without changing booktype. -R should work, so try again.

Please don't try to help people if you don't fully understand what you're doing yourself. Do you see the confusion your explanation has caused? I appreciate the effort, but something that could have been resolved in 1 post by someone who knows has now taken many posts and has resulted in little gain.

EDIT: If either of you still need help, post your question and wait for a response from someone knowledgeable on the subject. Having the blind lead the blind only creates two lost individuals.

You don't need the icon or meta file. Not having it in the proper folder structure is what caused it.

you have to rename it to (boot.dol) inside a WadManager folder inside the APP folder for the HBC to recognize it

great guide...somehow I still get a black screen when trying to use backup launcher

black japanese wii...

I guess it fails

I believe the new black japanese Wii's have new drives in them that do not allow them to play disc based backups on them, your only option in this case would be to use a usb loader instead and play your games from the usb device instead of discs.

This seems to just be a rumor at this point.

Hallo! Im new here. I don't know if I have read properly 1 step but does it mean after 1st step I can play burned discs???
No.. it says, "Now that you have the HomeBrew Channel, you can run a backup launcher and play burned games. If that's all you want to do, skip down to the cIOS and Backup Launcher section."

You may also have to patch IOS36 depending on your Wii. It's better to just follow the whole guide if you don't know what you're doing. Everything in the guide is very useful and there isn't anything random I just decided to pop in there. So if you really feel like you know what you're doing-- feel free to pick and choose what steps to follow.

And I don't mean to be rude, but when you come back in a few days saying you couldn't get it to work (as most people do).. I'm not going to try to troubleshoot your problem (if it's not obvious). I'm simply going to tell you to go back and read and follow the guide fully. I'd highly recommend just following the whole guide. =)

Your Wii won't brick unless you unplug it during one of the steps. Just make sure not to do that.. and don't hack your Wii in a storm.
