Hacking AceKard 2i clone and the new firmware fix

Hi,

I have an R4i (Gold) www.r4ids.com. As per the Gurus on this forum it is a AceKard 2i clone.

When I run the ak2ifw_update_14_DSi.nds it reports the CHIP ID : 02fc and HW : 02fc and stops that this card cannot be updated.

Is there anyway we can bypass the HW:4444 check and it can do the update and the card can be made useable.

isnt r4i gold already supposed to work on dsi

As it turns out, some Acekard 2i clones can be updated, while others can't. There are some details about this scattered about, I've seen a couple on here.

R4i Gold (www.r4ids.com) does not work with firmware 1.4U. But as mentioned in one of the forums if it is a clone of AceKard 2i. Then the patch released should work.

But as mentioned earlier is does not work. (CHIP ID : 02fc HW : 02fc) while Ackeard videos released mention about HW : 4444 and HW : 81.

like r4ui,it runs the update freely..

funny.. but you have a point..
To be honest, I am really confuse on too many R4i's around..
Seriously, people should stay away from R4i's even though they are cheap,
they have tons of problem surrounding them and not worth the effort repairing them when problem comes.,,
