Is there a way to convert Mp3 n such music files to AAC format without using iTunes? Because iTunes takes up way too much memory and i have music to put on my SDHC memory card for my DSi but it lags me too much when it is installed....I need a new pc but for the meantime could someone help?

If you have Nero 8 or 9, run Nero Burning ROM, then go to extras and then "encode files". It is simple and the final audio quality can be better than the original mp3.

Transcoding to any lossy codec can never be better than the original, by definition. Doubly so for transcoding lossy to lossy, due to differently implemented psychoacoustic algorhythms.

Still, if you must transcode mp3 -> aac then dbPowerAmp is worth a look.
