I followed the guide I modded a 4.1u and a 3.4u now the 3.4u I had to update to 4.1 it will not read my sd card in home brew to let me install or see anything for that matter.it just goes black and stays. yes card is good it works in the other 2 wiis sitting here, but it wont work in the only one that i updated....any ideas Thanks

First thanks for the help,
second I followed the simplistic mod, which did say update after installing every thing except preloader and usb loader.Then lastly ,how can I get tbr to run if homebrew will not read my sd card .. Thanks in advance..

the preloader link here was dead so i grabbed i from some whre else how can i tell the region it s set for its all nmbers in the hacks.ini file
I didn't say you couldn't be helped. I just said if you started following one guide, keep to it. Whatever you did can be fixed if your Wii is still functional. Just pick one of the guides and go through it again (if you're not sure where you went wrong). Doing the guide again won't hurt anything as everything you install will simply overwrite whatever was there. So now that you have 4.1, just pick a guide and go through it again. guys I get it, I get it, I am greatful for your help. yes I guess I posted in the wrong thread I am well aware of bricking, every 3rd post reminds us of that.I have been hacking and cracking going on 18 years .I am not trying to ruffel anyones feathers. I have posted 2 ?'s in the last year and a half. I almost didnt post the ? because I knew someone would do a little brow beating if I didnt cross my t's and dot my I's correctly.I actually figured out the answer to both before they were answered.I again am greatful guys but none of your remarks were helpful. with 2 guides for one thing and 6 different usb loaders 2 or three different backup loaders and a dozen or so other programs or cios's to install, mistakes will be made. Again I am greatful and sorry if I have offended anyone.
ok it must have been my internet the rediret location for the file worked this time i grabbed a gamecube controller and am backing up my nand so far so good
the preloader is never giving me option 1 to install it just sits on the please read careful screen any ideas ?
i have no file called Backup Launcher-WBKL-2.wad in anything i downloaded either did i miss something ?
ok 1 and 2 together did it i am trying to install the backup launcher as a channel for my son he is 9 but i dont have that file Backup Launcher-WBKL-2.wad listed in the guide any help ?

ok i refreshed the screen in the backup loader section and it fixed the name it did say

Copy the file Backup Launcher-WBKL-2.wad into the wad folder on your SD card.
Rename the file WAD-Manager_v1.5.dol to boot.dol
but now it says

also there are a lot of options i have to pick with the wadmanager should i leave them all default because it fails to load but i was missing that file that was renamed let me try again with the Neo_gamma_R7.wad

Leave the first option to default.. it should load from IOS 249. Then tell it you want to pick from the SD card.. Then just click A on the WAD you want.. and it'll ask if you want to install or uninstall..
worked great thanks for all the help i will continue to read i love the way teh preloader menu boots right away just in case things go crazy i got 4 copys of my nand.bin saved in various places audio on super mario galaxy is kinda scratchy during the movie scene's but these are cheap dvd-r's ill play around with that but i got neogamma loaded as a channel and all is well thanks so so much for your help

Just one issue I am having. Installed Bootmii as boot 2 and tried doin a nand dump but it fails all the time. Just says error. When I check the SD card its showing as full. So I freed up over 50mb on it and tried again. it failed again and checked again it was full but nothing else but the nand.bin was added I deleted off the SD card but still full can anyone help?
