Follow those steps and you're set.

You should also use cIOS Rev13a, not b.

Don't forget that to play GameCube backups you need to install a cMIOS and a GC backup launcher (search for GC backup launcher v0.2 - it's the newest).

And even though you dont have a GC controller, you can tap the power button to go to the right, and tap the reset button to select (on BootMii).

FOLLOW UP QUESTION ----
Please forgive me but i am totally new and to be honest timid about doing this. I payed a guy to do this for me but want to learn myself. How do I update the cios and use neogamma launcher safely.......thanks

Search for the cIOS36_r9 installer (or r10) and search also for the NeoGamma thread, they both come as .dol files, so you need to rename them as boot.dol, then put each one in a folder with its name, and then place those 2 folders inside the apps folder of your SD card, after that insert back again in your Wii the SD and run the HBC, load the cIOS installer to get the newest cIOS installed, then use NeoGamma to lauch your games, if you find the thread it may give you a channel that can be installed with Wad Manager, read a little bit at wiibrew.org for more info about how to use the HBC, and read (and search) around here to find out more about such apps...!!

Ok i feel stupid...but the more i read the more i get lost...im starting to understand more...but it never seems i get the info i need or it confuses me. Really need help and thank you for it as well as your patience. Like i said i am using gamma .3 but not with the error 002 fix....I think this is why some of my backups dont work. I also think that is why your are telling me to install the cios36_9 installer. Here are my new questions. I didnt hack my wii someone did for me...so i dont have a sd card. He did it with the twilight hack i know. Can I just make a sd card and then put in the cios and neogamma in the apps folder and so forth....??? So much to learn. Thanks again for your patience. Is there a place to get these files i need.

i have a lot of problems with my wii, i spend the whole day googeling, reading burning and fixing. i searched here and elsewhere which just made me more confused because everything seems to contradict my situation. i ll just tell the whole story.

i have a pal wii with wiikey1. my firmware is 3.1E.

i have a lot of backups. MG, SSB, ZTP,... even some for GC like DonkeyKonga. everything worked fine.
after i played ssb for ~3 weeks when it came out i havent touched my wii. ~1month ago a friend gave me his Rockband 1 drums, guitar and mic. i downloaded rockband 1 and rockband acdc and played them a couple of days, everything still worked fine. two weeks ago i played some older backups like mario kart wii and of course donkey konga. a few days ago i discovered that none of my backups work so i bought this nintendo laser cleaning set and used it (a lot). i then discovered that originals work while backups dont. so the laser was not the problem.

must be my wiikey i figgured. i tried downloading the latest patch (1.9s). i burned the iso with nero but the wii could not read the disc. i downloaded the latest config disc (1.4) (chopped?! to gc size 1,4gb i think) but again the wii didn't accept it.

now i have installed the homebrew channel using bannerbomb and added the backup loader channel (v3 gamma) after letting the hbc update itself . it works with some of the few backups i tested it with. i was hoping the backuploader could read one of the 2 wiikey discs so i could update the wiikey and use it again but it did not work. (first it seemd like it would work because the screen turned green for a second ,but then the wii was resettet. when i put in the config disc using backuploaderchannel the screen said somethin about hooks and resettet. i then tried using the normal disk-channel and the little gc intro was shown but when i choose start it didn't work.

what should i do now? is there a way to patch my wiikey without using a disc? how can i find out which wiikey version i currently use? eventually i wanted to update to 4.0 firmware after i update the wiikey, but i am sure i shouldn't do it the other way arround.

Use TBR (trucha bug restorer) to downgrade IOS35 and then run the installer again...!!

The Trucha Bug Restorer doesn't downgrade IOS35, comex's downgrader does that and that shouldn't be done on any recent Wii's. The Trucha Bug Restorer should be used as shown here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltrd3oq8hPc...re=channel_page
You downgrade IOS15, then use IOS15 to install an IOS36 with the Trucha Bug, then restore IOS15. Then run the cIOS rev13a installer using IOS36.

And even though you dont have a GC controller, you can tap the power button to go to the right, and tap the reset button to select (on BootMii).

That should not be done on boot2v4 Wii's. The TBR is a safer option to suggest to people as it works on any Wii of any firmware.

If you have an older version of the HBC and wifi, then it should prompt you to autoupdate it. Accept this and it will take you to the hackmii installer, in this install the updated HBC and bootmii as well. It will tell you whether or not your Wii is capable of doing a boot2 and IOS install or only an IOS install. If you can install to boot2 then do it and then the bootmii menu will load up whenever you boot your Wii, you can also install as IOS as well and then you can get to the bootmii menu from the HBC as well. The IOS version offers no brick protection in itself though. Once in the bootmii menu use a GC controller and select the 4th option and then the first option and have at least 528-540ish MB free on your SD card. It will then backup your nand to the sd card to a file called nand.bin. Let it finish verifying as well and don't skip that. Then you can backup that nand.bin file to your pc for safe keeping and use the bootmii configuration editor to change the settings on it to make it autoboot to either the system menu or the HBC after however many seconds you want.

If your HBC does not prompt this auto update, then go to bootmii.org and get the hackmii installer betav2 and rename that to boot.elf and run it as a normal app through the HBC.

This will have nothing to do with having starfall on your Wii but I do suggest uninstalling that afterwards and updating your Wii to 4.0 and using startpatch/preloader instead.

And to others, pretty much anyone that has problems loading backups should do this. Follow the video I posted above to get the Trucha Bug in IOS36 and run the cIOS rev13a installer using IOS36. Then to load games use NeoGamma R6, not the gamma 0.3 loader. NeoGamma should fix any 002 problems you have. If you already have cIOS installed then you can skip the TBR step and just install rev13a over that using IOS249.

If you can install to boot2 on your Wii then you can use the power button on the Wii itself to go right and the reset button to select. The IOS version cannot do this and needs a GC controller though.

Ether you are one of the greatest users here on GBATemp. Thanks so much.

And do you need to reinstall cIOScorp and Preloader after updating to 4.1?

(This is copied from my thread, which has garnered no replies :/)

Ok, so I have Preloader V29, and I'm trying to block updates. However, it's simply not working, I have updates blocked with my hacks.ini file, but when I select Systemmenu Hacks, it says "hacks for your systemmenu version (v385) were found No", which I assume that the No was supposed to be in the front. What do I do? I don't want to use brickblocker. I haven't been able to use my Wii for 2 months, so if the problem is obvious, I'm sorry. Before you start, I have searched for a good 30 minutes, so I'm requesting help. Thanks :]

EDIT: I have 3.2U, by the way.

I just installed Homebrew 1.0.3/Bootmii/and xDVD. Now I want to install GX's USB Loader so I can run my backups.
But I'm not really familiar with all the terminology being thrown around.

You install need to install rev13a, with some IOS38-64? Then that's all you need to run the loader? Where do you put these files on the SD card? Should they placed in the WAD directory and then install them through the WAD manager(which install method is the most care-free)?

When I get to the click on rev13a, in the homebrew channel, the menu lets me chose a two digital number. Should I just chose the first number that shows up ? When I install another version of rev do I select this number again to overwrite previous?

Sorry. Really need some clarification. Thanks.

Yes, the update will update your IOS's (getting rid of CIOSCORP) and install a new system menu (getting rid of preloader).

cIOS revisions have installers that can just use your wifi if your Wii is connected to the internet to download the IOS that it needs and patch it and install it to IOS249 altogether. However the installer requires the trucha bug to be intact for it to install successfully. When it asks you what IOS to use in that rev13a installer, it's asking for you to tell it what IOS has the trucha bug. If you are on 4.0 and have done nothing to get the trucha bug back then you do not have it on any IOS and need to use the Trucha Bug Restorer to get it back before you can run that installer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltrd3oq8hPc...re=channel_page

Follow exactly what that video does and you should then have the trucha bug back on IOS36. Then you can run that cIOS rev13a installer from the HBC again and tell it to use IOS36 and do a network install and it should work fine.

I dont know much about Wii... i got only HBC installed on him.
ok here we go!

I got a Wii 2 weeks later and it cames with d2ckey modchip em system firmware 3.4U.
i got a msg from nintendo talking about a update 4.1 i think... i search a lot about informations on that system.

i found some like waninkoko system update 4.1 that we can install with no problems.... right...

my question is if i update my firmware from that waninkoko my d2ckey continues working on my burning game dvds?
If i update from Nintendo direct from wii it ll continue working too?
thnks.!

run the hackmii installer like any other app (so put it in the apps folder and run with HBC)
Don't forget to rename it to boot.elf

Hi, I softmodded my wii using this guide

http://www.wiiguide.co.cc/

Not really sure what tells you all..I dont know what IOS things I have installed, I just did everything on that list and nothing more.

Ive never upgraded to version 4.0 with that Waninkoko updater thing to my knowledge either..should I? Is it as easy as installing other things like dvdx..or wiiware wads? etc

Also, has anyone discovered yet if the motion plus works with a softmodded wii? For games like Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods..I think ive read there is something extra you need to do for wi sports resorts but the other two?

Hope someone can give me some clues here thanks.
