3 GOLDEN RULES OF A PRO GAMER
1.have patience
2.don't spoil the fun by playing a game you don't understand
3.and one more time have patience , cause you probably didnt read the 1st point

probably someone will do it if he wants to do it , and dont ask 6 days before the official release to make a translation

why play the game when you don't understand it
furthermore this is DQ9 (rpg) not a hack and slash game ...
since it is decemeber so just be patient
smile.gif

if you are planning to play the game w/o knowing what is happening
then why need a menu
a few trial and error will get you what you want
at least this is what i did when i didn't know any japanese
the best part is... you will actually learn some actual japanese by recognising the japanese characters
in future, you don't even need any PATCH on menu

EDIT: i think this game

Don't be so mean. Be calm. It's not like you're a veteran at GBAtemp too shineek.

And about your second one, explain why there are troves of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days players relying on a Menu Patch alone.

About your question. Please take this to the requests thread. Plus, it takes some effort to translate games. It's quite difficult you see.

i think someone might do it provided they want to do it (as mentioned)
translating the menu would be easy for me (just a 5-10 minute work)
but i do not have the skills to do the rom hacking

Translating the menu: 5-10 minutes of understanding Japanese.
Applying this to an actual game: Longer

you dont know me KingdomBlade , my post was far from mean , you dont want to see my posts when im mean too someone . and yeah im not a veteran , but it kinda pisses me off how people cant be patient , if someone dosent want to wait for US releases than download Rosetta Stone and learn japanese , 3 hours each day and after 3 months you'll be able to play some games without problems , and after 3 months more you will know kanji(hiragana and katakana) and around 800 kana , and thats enough to play 98% of games

Okay, I get your point.... Hey, is it cold there in Poland? (trying to avoid an argument)

Maybe someone will plan to make a translation in the future.

No its not cold , but rainy .

Well maybe someone will make it and maybe not , where just humans whe dont know the future .
But i highly recommend you to wait for the US version and dont spoil the fun on the JP one .

I'd never play an RPG in Japanese, as the most important thing (imho) for an RPG is the story and the characters. If you totally miss those things by not being able to read them, what remains?
Only mindless grinding, and what's the fun in it?
wink.gif
(even if I know there are people out there that find grinding fun)

Wait for it in english

learn all kanji in half a year? :wtf: you must be amazing, not to mention 800 kana? that's more then what native japanese speakers know!
I'll probably try to translate the menus and the first little bit of story when it comes out

Judging from how the other DQ games play I wouldn't bother playing if you only have a few menu translations. The amount of detective work and knowing who to talk to and when is so important in this series that knowing how to use items and stuff wouldn't make much difference overall. Don't wanna rain on your parade, I am just being honest.

well you know when you have a strong will to learn to insanely play more cool games than you can do it
tongue.gif
, also i learn fast , but i can only learn somehow two languages , i knew german and english but when ive started to learn japanese ive kinda forgot most of german
tongue.gif

BTW whats so awesome in learning so fast kanji , ive learned them in one month but i heard of people that made it in a week , what ive learned in half a year some ppl learn in 2 months , now THATS awesome , but kinda scary .

Obviously we didnt mean that it would be hard to play it without knowing japanese , we meant that its no fun , DQ9 is and RPG , and RPG means ROLE PLAY GAME , so tell me how can you role play whan you dont understand a thing , if you play games just to use some of youre free time and have only pointless mob grinding in mind go play some Counter Strike , if you play for the storyline , chara development and other rpg stuff than wait patiantly or learn japanese .

Miss_DSLite you could just ask us for some RPG recommendations , there are a lot of VERY GOOD rpg's already released in the US .

BTW whats with this year , theres too much cool rpgs to play , each time i start a new one 3 are being released , i cant play that fast

Talking and even flaming over game that is yet to be released (and there is a long wait until that!) is really pointless..

Thread closed, and please, everybody DO NOT request translations of games that aren't even released..

And really, getting menu translation, and then playing this game on Japanese would kill it for any person that actually likes RPGs..
