okay for example a game says this in the note section "4.0u rev 10".

what does that mean? does that mean i need 4.0u version of the system menu and rev 10 of the cios?

to clarify i'm talking about the usb loader v1.x game compaibility list on this site. for instance i want to play resident evil archives pal. it says 4.0E rev12 USBloader gx r559. does that mean i need 4.0 system menu version and rev 12 of the cios?

no. you don't. resident evil archives at least for my ntsc copy ran fine under rev10 and 3.3U

It just means what that particular person (who wrote the entry) used to run the game.

The entry shows that what configuration has been shown to work. You're welcome to test the game under your settings and submit them to that board.

You only need the right cIOS installed and use the right loader. What system menu you have, if you have HBC, if any of your IOS has the trucha bug, if you have other IOS as the IOS used by the system menu and the cIOS at all, if you start the loader from HBC, a channel or a forwarder channel, that all does not matter.
