Wouldnt a SNES game being emulated on a emulator (2 emulators on a PC here folks) run more slowly than if it was running on a GBA/Flash?

Lord Graga, what are you saying....

we will have to use ips patch for speed hacks done to the roms before compileing and flashing them

I think this is pretty awesome. If you need beta testers, I'm up for it!!!

I'm availible 24/7, except for the little time I spend on UNI.
Since I spend so much time with my gba fiddling with pogoshell I think I'm quite suited for the job. =P

Send me a mess if you're interested in a beta tester.

DarkThron: --> You can check which roms that are LowRoms with Snes9x, when loading a rom, it tell you information about the rom.

I'm sure they'll have plenty of people clamoring to beta test. They'll have no shortage of people wanting to play, but who can test with patching in mind (or with some idea of what to do to speed hack)? Not I, certainly, and I think that's who they would look for.

kudos to loopy for attempting to break new ground, but this thing will never be worth anyone's time. DreamSNES (a dreamcast SNES emulator) only runs at about 80%. How can anyone expect the GBA to run at anything close to a reasonable speed? It'd be like watching a slideshow. If you ask me, loopy's expertise would be better spent working on emulating a simpler gaming system.

I think they didn't optimize 100% then!

Actually the last version of DreamSnes that was made runs quite well. Around 99%. And that is with sound, which is near perfect. I still play chrono trigger on it now and then

i have one possible way we could deal with the button issue; what we had like maybe 2 or 3 built in button configurations and like 4 or 5 slot for custom button configurations that would be defined in the injector program, and selectable in the emu's menu

maybe the selection could be called controll type on the menu

and if loopy hasn't figured out a way to deal with the scalling issue then i suggest that loopy try FamicomAdvances scalling method. oh and if loopy has figured out a way to deal with the screen/scalling issue then never mind

1) there's no scaling for now.
2) stop worrying about the buttons. Really, it's not that big of a deal. they'll be totally configurable at some point, but for now, they're not.
3) don't worry about the speed. it's not a slideshow. some games may be slow, but it's maybe %50 speed worst case.
4) shut up about beta testing. I MIGHT consider letting someone have it early, so they can work on speed hacks so more games are playable at release time. but only if they know what they're doing, know the SNES well, know assembly language, bla bla bla

DarthTron - lay off the crack. it's bad juju.
