First thing you should do is get the HackMii installed from bootmii.org and use it to update your HBC and install BootMii.

The latest Gamma loader is still 0.3. There's more emphasis on the USB loader nowadays. Update to cIOS rev10 or rev13 if it's stable now to use it.

First go to you're Wii and see what you're System Menu is..?
Go to settings and on the top corner you'll see something like 3.2U..

Tell me what that is and Wii'll get going on the next step...

Installing BootMii, Pre Loader or both..

First off go to bootmii.org, grab the hackmii installer beta 2, run that to install bootmii and the new hbc. If you can install bootmii to boot2 do it and use it to make a nand backup of your wii for ultimate brick protection.

There's a 4.0 guide to upgrade you to the latest cIOS and firmware and IOS while keeping all your stuff intact. You could also use cios rev10 instead of 13 if you want. Some say it's more stable and has less bugs (but if you need to use a lan adapter or something else in the usb port just use 13.) Then as far as backup launchers go. For disc based backups I think neogamma is one of the more recent ones, but usb loaders are all the rage now so if you have an external hard drive or a big enough sdhc card you wanna put your games on or something grab whatever loader appeals the most to you. USB loader GX, and the Coverflow loader by beardface, are some popular ones.

Sweet 3.2U I can help you get to 4.0U and BootMii instaled/ Brick protection.
Theres always a chance for a brick so we'll install BootMii first!!!!

1st. Get HackMii 0.2, IOS60 Patch and cIOS rev10.

UPDATE WII 4.0

1. Install BootMii to boot2 if you're Wii is old enough it can...,Then back up you're Wiis NAND using BootMii. --EDIT--- Was step 2.
"If you brick you're Wii durning the update BootMii and the Nand backup might (99% if its installed on boot2) fix it"

2. Install cIOS rev10. ---EDIT--- Was step 1.
"Its my favorite"

3. Use Wininkoko 4.0 updater..
"You need to have WiFi and the Wii online for Wininkoko 4.0 updater to work, but its the best way to update it only installes the stuff you need.."

4. Then install the IOS60 Patch..
"It helps you to run WiiWare and VC games off the SD Card...I think."

!!!!Also it can take 30+ minutes to do Wininkoko 4.0 updater.!!!!
!!!DON'T TURN OFF THE WII WHILE UPDATING OR YOU'LL HAVE A FULL BRICK!!!

To clarify as that seems a bit unclear don't update to 4.0 at that point. and I'd suggest swapping steps 1 and 2. Get bootmii ASAP it's like preloader but if you can install to boot2 prevides better brick protection and should never be a cause for a brick. And if you have a relatively recent hbc with wifi on your wii, it should prompt you to update and then run the hackmii installer automatically to let you install the new hbc and bootmii. Then just follow the guide I posted to basically do what he just said.

Yea bootmii is independent of any IOS or cIOS you have so the only thing that matters regarding installing that is whether or not you have a vulnerable boot1 to install boot2 or not. IOS bootmii should be able to install on anything.

On the root of you're SD Card there should be a folder called BootMii and a config file '"Open it with Word Pad" it should look like this..

# BootMii config file

# Video mode, possible settings:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=NTSC

# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
#AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

# Autoboot delay, in seconds:
# Default is 5
#BOOTDELAY=5

is that there?
Are you sure it installed to Boot2 some Wiis cant do that, was there any errors?

I got to crash out soon so I might have to help ya tomorrow just don't go jumping the gun..!
Lets get BootMii working before doing anything els..

You might want to try uninstalling it then reinstalling it again...?
Or Waite to see what other people say to do..

I never had this problem so it hard for me to give you good advice on it..

But don't do nothing until you get BootMii working and that NAND backed up...
If you have a problem like this with the update you'll have a full brick and no way to fix it.

I'm crashing out for the night I'll look for you're topic tomorrow to see if you still need help.

Try installing the ios version as well and then try loading from hbc by pressing home. If you see the files on your sd card fine I'm thinking it's an incompatible sd card problem and you'd have to try a different one.

The Mirco SD Card could be the problem but I'm not 100% sure..
If you are going to get a new SD Card its been my experance that a 1 or 2GB is the most likey to work the best..

I dont see why the Micro SD Card with adapter wouldn't work...????
But then again I dont know why BootMii isn't working so I guess its worth a try.

I'll stick with ya and try to help..

Good Luck.
