Is Ultimate USB Loader 7.4 better than the official USB Loader 1.5 and is it the best out of them all? Or is USB Loader by Brisma the best?

Depends on what you want. The official 1.5 will work just fine as it is. The other loaders just take that to the next level. A nicer looking interface, more options.

thx!!

That's an original IOS, you should be able to install it just fine.
An IOS is part of the system. An application wants to run under a certain IOS file.

. Im kinda worried since Im planning to get Wii later again ( I was stupid to sell it.. ), and if I cant mod it then I dont need a Wii.

What I'd also like to know is how does BootMii work ? Is it so simple that you put some files onto SD card while your Wii might be brand new with no modifications, and BootMii Menu will boot up, and I can use HBC through that ?

If so, does this mean you can install HBC with the BootMii HBC through WadManager, and there's no need for Twilight Hack anymore ?

you run the hackmii installer. it launches from the wii's sd channel data management menu
from that application, you can directly install hbc

This was originally posted in the Wii Hacking section, re-posted in the USB Loader section as it is more appropriate :-

I have created 10 drives for the Wii. I have been following Big Moe's guide to making any drive compatible but using WBFS Manager 3.0.0 instead of the command line tool. The 8th drive is recognised by the manager but, although the drive is seen, the data loaded by the manager is not. All the threads I have found relate to timeout issues with the drive with symptoms of USB not recognised. Although it is not a problem to format from the Wii and re-load, I would appreciate being educated to any existing threads relating to this problem i.e. drive recognised but PC formatted WBFS partition not recognised.

The PC with the data archive and the Manager is remote from the Wii's ! I don't want to have to prepare a drive fat 32 and no timeout on the PC, next day format WBFS on the Wii, next day load the archive onto the drive i.e. a 3 day process rather than 1, for a reliable process. Therefore I would like to know how to prevent/detect problems from the PC end, hence my request for information.

Thanks in advance as replies have always been forthcoming, but sometimes slow, when I have not edited the post because I have found the answer myself. This is not a complaint about the reply speed. When the answer is simple, the response is mediate. If the response is slow in coming, this tells me the issue is more complex and gives me confidence that it is being given the consideration it deserves !

Good job on the forum re-organisation

Can't you just install Starfall and make it skip the disk updates?

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

I downgraded from 3.3e to 3.2e and everything worked fine, homebrew included.
I'm using HBC 1.0.1 and Twilight Hack 0.1B1

I used the ecogammapack guide to downgrade:
Installed IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad
Installed CIOS_FIX.wad
Used CIOS downgrader and chose 3.2e
Installed Starfall
Installed IOS51 and choosing no for wii shop channel

Everything still fine

Then installed IOS 38,53 and 55

Everything still fine

Then installed USB2 beta 3 and DVDx for menu 3.2 and to IOS202 (for mplayerCE)

Everything still fine

Then installed CIOS36v9 and USB Loader 1.5

After that mplayerCE 0.4 and 0.5 won't load and some other homebrew sometimes work other times I just get a black screen and i have to power down the wii.

Did I do something wrong ? Please help

csin: why do you want to install ios 55? to play a certain game? ios are sets of instructions. Various programs and games use them. And many hackers make custom ios (cIOS) that enable you to do special things. Normal IOS range from the single digits up to 60 but there is not one for each number.. they skip a lot, and some of the ios you have installed (249) are actually cIOS

actually my softmodded wii cant play monster hunter G, it can run it, but it will appear black screen where i must off the power supply to restart it..

juz googling, and someone said need IOS55 to play...

but i juz afraid i wil brick my wii if i install IOS55..sigh~~

Got a quick question for you - i have searched a lot, but can't find a difinitive answer:
- I got it all running - installed CIOS rev10 - USB Loader.
But my harddrive keeps entering sleepmode when playing (Still works, just freezes for a couple of seconds). It's a WD Elements 250 GB.

Can this only be fixed, by taking the harddrive out of the case, and using HDPARM? Or is there a new CIOS that im missing?

If i need to use HDPARM, is there a guide somewhere?

Thanks

Is there a reason that my Wii clock is 30 minutes off after soft mod?

I have 3.2U, gamma backup loader and USB loader* working properly with cIOS rev 10.

*USB loader currently only works for USB thumdrive. But I attribute that to the incompatibility of the HDD enclosure.
Could anyone take a look at this? Also my shopping channel isn't working, which is not a problem to me.

I haven't used my Wii in ages and I want to mod it out so I can play Homebrew, install WiiWare, play latest games like MadWorld, etc. My Wii is at 3.2E and has WiiKey, should I upgrade to the latest version or stay at what I am at now?

Stay on it, if you have a modchip, you don't have to upgrade.
And 3.2 is still the best version for piracy, so no reason to upgrade.

Play Homebrew = Install the homebrewchannel
For that download this ISO:

http://hbc.hackmii.com/get.php?file=the_ho...d42472b472ba44c

And burn it like you would burn any other game to a DVD.
If you have the DVD ready, plug it in your Wii and follow the instructions.

Install WiiWare is possible if you have the Homebrewchannel on your Wii.

After success, I now keep getting freezes when I try to install Vurtual Console wads. It starts to install but tends to lock up in between. How can I check if the wads are good?

Install them and check if they work

, sorry couldn't resist, there is no app to check the .wad files, but if all of your files do the same at the installation, then reformat your SD, and then try again..!!
