can you implament a kid friendly mode so my kids dont go hitting buttons and delete the games

It's pretty good now but I'd love a simplier mode too. Just left/right to switch between pages, A to start, home to exit. Nothing else. Hopefully when there is a config file we can do this.

Hi,
maybe this post is not so useful, if RC8 is coming out, anyway I tried to install yesterday the RC7 on my Wii (PAL with 3.2 FW, cios_rev9) and the loader is working fine, but not the covers!
I created a folder coperti in the root of my SD card, covers are in there with the right size, but when I launch the loader I see no cover at all (only the mario default)

I tried to re-download the covers, same stuff. The strange is that if I choose a game for infos and press 2, the cover is shown , and after also in the "global" view

But if I quit the application, again no covers at all! Any tip about this?
thanks since now!

1. Create a folder called "coperti"on the root of the SD card or HDD fat partition.
2. Make sure you've got all the right stuff for loading GUI-FX
3. Load that sh*t in homebrew channel
4. press 1 to display Info screen
5. press UP and 2 to download missing covers

Good luck m8!

Well guys, the moment you've been waiting for has arrived!

Delete coperti folder, delete gui-fx from HBC, wipe clean everything related to gui-fx and install

the ! legal ! GUI-FX - Forwarder / Installer channel: GUI-FX-forwarder-installer.rar 1.43 MB http://ul.to/5rxsmo

If no gui-fx is found on HDD or SD card, it will ask you if you want to install it (internet connection necessary).
It will create the right and complete folder structure (new in RC8) and will download GUI-FX into the right place. (on usb or SD card).

If you still want to start if from HBC, then use this version please: GUI-FX_1.0-RC8.rar 485.50 KB http://ul.to/jg1j0a

Channel-Forwarder-Installer video - easy!

Usage:

on covers screen:
Home to get to home menu (to exit loader or enter config screen)
+/- to change pages
A to start game
B (or 1 for wii guitar) to enter game info screen

on game info screen:
A to start game
2 to redownload cover / refresh it from internet
Home to get to home menu (to exit loader or enter config screen) - this way you can select game to be disallowed starting on config screen

on home menu:
Wii menu - reboot console
Loader - exit to Homebrew Channel - only if started that way or it will code dump
Configure - pointing to it, press A+B, the wiimote will vibrate, press 1+2 and the config screen will show up.

Config screen:
cover type: classic or 3D
aspect ratio: 4:3 or 16:9
font color: green, yellow, blue, red, black
blocked games: allow, temporary and deny - it will allow, temporary allow (current session only) or deny access to games selected to be blocked.
config access: allow, deny - allow makes A button acces the config screen, deny - you will have to push A+B then 1+2 to access config screen.

if you enter config screen from info screen, you will get an extra button:
current game: allow, deny - meaning that current game is allow to play at all times, deny - will be denied access when "blocked games" is set on deny.

Missing covers: will download all covers missing
Force all: will force download covers for all games
Update GUI-FX: will update GUI-FX online

Thanks for the update, but that Config screen is a pain to get to! I hit A+B and it launches a game every time because B exits the Home screen, and A launches the game! There has to be an easier way! Maybe you didn't have any problems because you don't have any game icons down where the configure button is (like behind it).

Just to try I turned off my drive and then reloaded the app. Now there are no game icons behind the menu, but still every time I try to do A/B I get sent out of the Home menu. Then I hit 1/2 and it Code Dumps - I must not be doing SOMETHING right! Please help!

Cool update tho, if I can ever utilize it!

Actually I think the less than straightforward way of accessing the config setup is a good thing as it reduces the risk, for those of us with children, of having the settings inadvertently altered. Nice job!

Have you managed then to get to the Configure menu? I don't mind having to do this procedure, but in this case, it does not appear to be possible for me (and others).

Hi, and thanks for your reply.
The steps you described are exactly what I did, the point is that once downloaded the missing covers (point 5 of your list) they are shoed UNTIL I don't reboot the loader itself (not the Wii!)

Anyhow I saw that RC8 is out, so later I will try it out and post here my results

and of course... really good job maddoc!

Ok, corrected, B doesn't take you out of home screen anymore:

GUI-FX_1.0-RC8.rar 488.16 KB http://ul.to/m8ztpr

If you use the channel, just delete _gui-fx.dol and the new version will be downloaded next time you start the channel.
