HI Guys, Well once again I arrived at work, made my coffee logged on to my usual forum/news/rss feed (slack Job I have !!!) and Yes, you did it again .. Rev5 is out .. Yipikai !!!!

Now I still have to wait the end of the day to try ...grrrrr...

I will provide feedback as soon as I can ...

On little suggestion though ...

Could it be possible to have an option to auto download all the artwork at once ??
Just for practical reason, so when you don't have have any artwork, (and set up to auto download) you don't wait on every game?

Just something to think about and discuss ...

Don, good work !!! This last version worked quite well here.

I think I found a bug (if somebody did not mention yet...):

If I choose to enable to download the covers, and after that try to play a game on WFC, then the game cannot connect and return woth error 50330. I tried with Mario Kart Wii and Excitebots. Both return this error when trying to connect.

If I turn my wii off and on again, and then start the game without enablin cover download, then I can play normally... (I had covers to download. I don't know if this happens if it does not have covers to download).

Cool sounds like nothing major to worry about. Sure Don will go into Machine mode though and fix it

As for the scrolling up and down, yeah it could be personal taste but depending on feedback we could see it either way. As Don said lets see what the others have to say.

Don, usptactical, Atupac and Oops check your pm's please

@cd: hope you're doing fine.thanks for the pm mate. Will check later at home.i'm at work,posting from my phone...
@corto: yep, it seemed so obvious to me that i added it as a major entry on the todo list.so expect it for the next release.
@lxlth:
Thanks for reminding this me.it's a known bug to all loaders (in the net library) that have not been fixed yet.i'll see this later.

Top job,

with latest release I have finally got stability ( no offence intended ).

It did not download 6 box images so I have manually added them, is there a way to also add the 3d images for these games to the folder, or will this cause problems?

The second I loaded it I got an 'abort called' and it returned to the HBC. I loaded it a few more times and it just kept crashing while scrolling. Decided to test again but this time without a nunchuck attached and it's perfectly stable ??

Edit: Re-attaching the nunchuck resulted in new crashes, I don't know if it's a coincidence or if the nunchuck is indeed the cause. Might be worth looking into...

@katrem
Hmm, Don will need to take a look at that. I have my nunchuck attached and never had any issues with any versions and seems nobody else is having this issue, but maybe there is something there. Can you confirm what your running system wise so Don can try determine if it's an issue with a certain program or something else. Cheers.

@Cort and Don
I actually had similar idea, I just didn't want to pester you Don to do more work lol. But yeah if you have the time and can implement that into the loader then it would make life easier for people who have cleared their image folders. We will need to make it clear though that it will take a bit of time especially if they have a lot of covers, just so they don't start pressing buttons and stuff wondering what is happening. Maybe if it could recognize how many games it has to get covers for and shows a percentage progress on that or something. So you could basically see that it's 50% done or 75% completed on download all covers.

@rwilts
You can add any images you want to save yourself having to download them through the loader. Just make sure you size them correctly and place them in the correct folders. See the readme.txt supplied with the loader for folder structures. I will also say make sure that the 3d covers you download, make sure it's the proper ones with the transparency around the actual box otherwise you will have a nice 3D box but a ugly white box around it, which makes it look crappy in the loader. Just download and take a look at it and make sure it's correct. It wouldn't dump the loader or anything, it's purely just for visual purposes.

@Oops
Sorry mate, never sent yours last night cause couldn't find your details, got it now though and you should have the pm now.

Cdreams,

thanks,, plowed ahead anyway and downloaded from the other zone - all installed and working great.

To confirm this wont load via preloader - install doll works and runs but code dumps when you press any key.

Keep up the good work.

Hi cdreams,

I'm at 4.0E (updated through Waninkoko) and I'm simply loading it through the homebrew channel. I do know it registers the nunchuck (pressing the Z- or C-button makes the console disappear for a short period) but don't see why it would cause crashes.
Funny thing: with previous versions I never had any problems but every time my wife used it it would crash in the same way (abort and reload HBC, no codedump)

Strange indeed. See my problem is I don't have any knowledge of preloader so I can't even suggest what it might be.

As for the nunchuck issue I'm stumped on that too. As I say Don could probably guess what it is or possibly even knows about it, so lets see what he thinks when he is back on.

Gambia, The
alpha5 is completly stable. i just tested every option and it works like a charm
smile.gif

there was just one bug i found ^^
if there is no 2d cover for an game (in my example klonoa) the loader seems to use the cover buffer of the covor highlighted before.
if i scroll from left to right, the loader uses the cover of the last game left to it, and right to left it uses the cover to the right.
one more thing, while i was testing i accidently started serveral times the highlighted game instead of going into options. it wouldnt be bad to let the game settings popup with the a button, and use the b button for example for overall settings screen.
i already wrote cdreams a request for maybe future revisions how to make good use about the game screen (me wants to be able to see game screenshot(s) ^^)
one last thing, it seems cover browsing is faster when auto download covers is disabled.
does the code checks everytime for a cover even when the cover is already on the sd card, was it just an imagination of me when i browse my games?

at last coverflow7 is an very nice loader, and i am looking forward to new revisions of it
smile.gif

keep up the good work

edit: ah found one more bug. after installing a game i pressed b (didnt want to eject the dvd) the setup screen was overlayed to the normal cover select screen. i thought mhm maybe its still in the setup screen, so i pressed b again. there was an msg at the bottom of the screen which said "Aborting..." and then i was back at the hbc.

Hmm if your wifi or internet is off it should use a blank template as far as I know, so maybe that isn't in place yet. However saying that on apha4 it showed a blank one for me so dunno. I know Don's looking ot add it so it will auto-download all your covers at once so maybe it can be included that makes ure you have the blank image template too. If that makes sense.

regarding the loading the game when you press A, if you set to safe mode it should ask you to confirm that it loads, like it does in the settings page. So make sure you have that on. Eventually a future version of the loader will have a confirmation screen pop up when you select the game and it will ask you to confirm, it will be visual and really quite pretty so everyone will just have to wait for that. It is being worked on

Mateyo, I am looking into your idea and a intuitive way to do it. Not saying it will definitely happen but it's on my ideas list so know that I didn't just ignore it and thanks for the idea in the first place.

hi guys, just showing to throw some infos and debug i've made.

i'm running 3.2e and the loader runs fine with AND without any nunchuk attached to the wiimote, gotta check this on another wii.

i installed the boot.dol (renamed as ul_dk-rev9a5.dol) with the config.txt at the root of my sdcard, and installed the previous file to run it... and it both runs and load games fine.
try to copy the config.txt in the root and retry. if you ever get a code dump can you please tell me what are the adresses shown (xxx -> xxx -> xxx), it would help me a lot.

working on fixing some bugs atm.
cheers.

edit;
ok... i've retried just to get it 100% sure and preloader does code dump on me. doesn't even load the main screen.
however what i noticed is that actually loads and run fine right after i install it and then run the installed file.
BUT if i reset my wii or switch it off and try to run the installed dol within preloader, it crashes.
might be something dealing with the sd card init... i don't know.

Answers:

1)If your wanting to make two partitions, as far as I know you can do it on your computer normally set to Fat32 and when you connect to the Wii it will recognise the different partitions and then you just select the one you want. I haven't done anything like this myself but there are some threads with a bit more information on gbatemp, so have a search around and it could clear up a little more than my guesswork.

2)I have several scrubbed games like Animal Crossing, Oboro Muramasa and stuff and they all work perfectly fine on any of the versions so far. I may just be lucky though, but I haven't heard any issues regarding this.

3)If you have the ISO's on your pc, then you can do whatever you want with them. This is how I would recommend anyone does it. Get the ISO's from wherever and save to your pc and then use one of the WBFS tools for Windows or Mac depending on what your using and copy them in. That way you always have a backup of your games on your main computer in case of having to format the external drive or corruption.

4)No, Rev9 Alpha5 is what we will be offering for a while most likely. Yes we are working on another project but it may be a while so don't lose out waiting for it. We want to have it right before we even show it in action. Rev9 Alpha5 is working really nicely now and it may get the odd tweak here and there but it's pretty much done for now.

5)I'm totally clueless here, so if anyone can shed more light in regards to a setup like this it would be appreciated. I would think that if you have the hbc working then your fine, but don't quote me on that. Try it out and see

morning guys... at last, gbatemp is up and running!

@CD: Rev9 alpha6 is about to be uploaded in a few hours. Sorry, i was to release it 2 days ago but this site was down...
I've managed to get a working copy of a non crashing forwarder, but we still have to rename the main folder "coverflow" or "usbloader".
So i pmed its author (Suloku) to see if he can share the source or make us a specifc dol. I did the same with Maddoc, hopefully one of them will make us a working forwarder.

Nice updates on the blog, but i agree with TAC... the main cover shouldn't have any reflection.
And TAC latest work is really... impressive
ohmy.gif

By the way, have you seen this?

@Ganons: you can use the loader's install feature of either alpha5/alpha6. Go to the settings screen, insert a dvd and hit the + button. That's it.
