In mm? Not sure, you could always get how big it is in inches and use an online converter (I'm pretty sure I included the size of each in inches on the FAQ).

I'll ask one last time before I just screw it and PM one of the mods and risk being warned, etc.

Does anyone know of a way I could request this thread to be stickied without ticking off a mod/admin?

Question on Wifi if WPA works now on games or not and if the wifi menu has changed.....?

Wifi menu has 3 additional connection slots (#4,5,6) added to it under "Advanced". Only these 3 slots can be set up for WPA/2 encryption. The regular slots (#1,2,3) are for basic WEP or no encryption.

Only new games will be able to use WPA. All existing DS games will only be able to use WEP.

Have you seen confirmation somewhere that new games will allow WPA connections? Or is that just speculation based on it being available? Not trying to be an ass, I really want to know the answer to that, and would love to see a source. AFAIK, games will still be locked to DS mode, and WPA will stay unavailable, but I hope that's wrong.

@Boltage: zero383 is correct in saying that no existing games can utilize connections 4 - 6, and as such are stuck with WEP. WPA is only usable for system level wi-fi (like the internet browser, or connecting to the store, or future DSiware apps).

misc question :

megapixel camera inside 0.3 pixel

how about outside? 0.3 or 3 pixel?

wifi range increased?

If you trust CNET with information then they have the specs

http://reviews.cnet.com/consoles/nintendo-...?tag=mncol;psum

" * Connectivity Features IEEE 802.11 "
AKA
"Wireless: 802.11 internal wireless connectivity"

compared with DSLite specs

http://reviews.cnet.com/consoles/nintendo-...?tag=mncol;rnav

" * Connectivity Features IEEE 802.11 "

laughably its stayed the same...
but I find it hard to believe that they haven't increased wifi range...
I hope im wrong.. =.=

Ha, something kinda funny, but I was reading the health and safety instruction booklet, and one of the things it says to do is to make sure the DS cartridge is in all the way before booting up your system. Way to go, Nintendo.

I recently found that the flashcarts out right now ONLY supports the original DS mode in the DSI. Anyone have any info if the new flashcarts can be updated to support the DSI mode? Or do we have to buy a new flashcart if we wanted to play a game but it used the DSI mode. Thanks

Well first currently no one has unlocked DSi Mode, so it probably won't even be put on a flashcart for a awhile. Second it depends, some carts may be able to update to get DSi mode some may require you to buy a new one. Third it doesn't really matter because by the time DSi mode is out there will probably be some sort of custom firmware or custom channel support (just speculation though, but seeing as how someone has confirmed to have the DSi common key we might see something like this in about a year).

ok I looked at the specs you posted...there is no information on range sadly so an increase is possible...but possibly not...802.11 has nothing to do with range, speed or signal strength...it's mearly a convention of wireless comunication...namely the most commonly used wireless networking solution used according the the ISO(international standards orginization)...if it said a/b/g/n it would be possible to get a better fix on speed/signal strength...but for the most part all 802.11 connections are 30 yards(maybe feet i cant recall) maximum with a 5-20 suggested range...a higher letter generally means higher speeds but flakier signal(meaning you risk communication errors)...

What the hell? 802.11 is practically an umbrella term for a few wireless standards.

OK, a quick find doesn't show up in the FAQ so I'll clarify this.

DSi supports 802.11b/g, not 802.11n afaik. 802.11g is faster than 802.11b.

On the security side, the DSi now supports security methods such as WPA now, not just the WEP standard which is only slightly safer than not securing your wireless network at all.

The catch to this all is that in DS mode, you're still stuck with WEP and 802.11b.

Correct me if I'm wrong as this is from memory.

Ok quick question that I would like to be added to the FAQ.

Does anyone know if the DSi charger is any longer than the DSL one?
You mean the actual chord on the charger? Or the charge time?

If you mean the actual chord length, I don't think it's any longer, but I'll check this evening.

I'm still a little pissed that they changed the plug, so now I have to buy a new car charger. Anyone seen just a car charger yet? Not part of a kit, but just the charger?

And kudos on the faq getting stickied, Delta. This answered all the questions I had about my DSi. (Which I'm getting Sunday!
